Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT Chennai) is a private institute, located in Kilpauk, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has four campuses in Kilpauk, Tidel Park, Kalpakkam, and Vizag. Established in 1998, HIMT is the only Institute in India to offer the maximum courses (90+) approved by the DG of Shipping. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) entrance exam scores are accepted by HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) for admission. It is a national-level common entrance test for admission to various courses offered at IMU campuses conducted by Indian Maritime University. The candidates who clear the entrance exam are called for their psychometric test, medical examination followed by panel interview and pre-sea training. No, candidates are not allowed to get admission into the BSc course without valid IMUCET scores.
