Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) - Batch of 2024

Pursuing GME with Synergy sponsorship at HIMT.
Placements: The placements at HIMT are very good compared to the other training institutes, because in our batch, 85 percent of the cadets got placed in various companies like Synergy, IMEC, Fleet Management, etc. My placement story has been one roller coaster ride. There have been so many ups and downs throughout this journey but by god's grace I came out victorious.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at HIMT is well structured and well maintained with latest technology and facilities. 100% attendance is compulsory here. The college campus has new buildings that look well maintained. They conduct fests and events which is kind of good here. The college is located outside the city so the travel distance is tiring.
Faculty: The faculty members are qualified and have 20 years of sailing experience with shipping companies. The exams are conducted externally. The faculty members here are Chief Engineers and Captains who are seasoned. We have well experienced instructors who help in providing hands on training in workshops.
Other: There are lot of cultural activities conducted in the campus where all the Cadets can enjoy their college time including seminars, quizzes, and power point presentations for the students to brush up their knowledge.

Pursuing GME at HIMT with IMEC sponsorship.
Placements: HIMT has good placement records and sponsorships. Our batch’s placement is about 85%. Most of them are under sponsorship programs and others received placements in various companies like D'amico, Sanmar shipping, and Eastaway. I was sponsored by IMEC. It's the International Maritime Employers Council. HIMT guided me to get through IMEC sponsorship. My starting salary as an apprentice is about 750 USD, and once I'm promoted, my salary would be around 2000-10000 USD per month.
Infrastructure: HIMT College has a lush green campus having a very cool atmosphere and great infrastructure facilities. We got great hostel facilities and air conditioned classrooms. We have a ship in the campus with all the live machineries for hands on experience. We also have a virtual reality lab where we get to experience real marine life.
Faculty: Our faculty members at HIMT College are seasoned Chief engineers and well experienced Instructors. Learning has been simplified with the extensive experienced faculty and instructors. We get some workshop trainings also with shipyards and power plants which enhances the learning experience.
Other: There are lot of extra cultural activities and international events which you can witness if you are a smart cadet.

I will never recommend this college to anybody.
Placements: Placements are good. Frequently visited by companies. Good companies come to take students. Approximately 100 percent placement. Frequent VIP visits are there at the college. Good companies. Famous companies. Big and famous companies. Good placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Good facilities in classrooms. Smart boards are provided for teaching. Nice infrastructure. Good infrastructure. Nice facilities. Nice cabins are allotted to the students. Cabins are good and comfortable. Attached washrooms and bathrooms to the cabins.
Faculty: Good faculty. Good teachers. Teachers give all their efforts to teach students. Anytime, ready to clear doubts. Anytime, ready to answer any questions from students. Hardworking faculty and teachers. Bad wardens. Rating is less just because of wardens; otherwise, faculty is good.
Other: The worst campus life you can ever live. I would never recommend this college to anyone.

Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) - Batch of 2024

Right place to do your DNS.
Placements: I recently completed the DNS course from HIMT College. I found it to be a very valuable experience. If you want to join the Merchant Navy, this is one of the ways. To join this course, you have to give the IMUCET exam, then you have to take sponsorship from companies like Synergy, Fleet, VR, etc. Only then can you join this course. The placement is 100% for this course because you are already sponsored when you join the course. The starting package will be from $500 to $600. It will increase when you get promoted.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of HIMT College is far better than other maritime institutions. We have VR labs where we can get a better understanding of ship structure. There are also different types of labs like SS, MEK, Electrical, and Automation. We have a SIC (ship in campus) in our campus. All classes have smart boards. AC classrooms are there. Hostel facilities are also better; rooms are in good condition with attached bathrooms. Four-seater rooms are there for the DNS course.
Faculty: Faculty members at HIMT are something different. Being away from home, I never felt sad because of them. Our faculty members train us to be the best of the best by sharing their immense knowledge and mentorship. My favorite faculty in HIMT is Capt. Vasanth Sir and VG Sir.
Other: HIMT is simply a mind-blowing campus. We love it here in all aspects.

Best college for B.Sc. Nautical Science in India.
Placements: The B.Sc batch of 2024 saw 90% placement. The major recruiters are Damico, MOL, MOLTA, Eastaway, Marshal Shipping, Sanmar, etc. I am glad to have been placed in Sanmar Shipping with a starting package of 60,000. If you stay all clear throughout your semesters, you will definitely get placed.
Infrastructure: The institute has air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi in cadets' accommodation, playground, gym, swimming pool, etc. We have a ship on campus with all auxiliary machines, virtual reality labs, and steering simulator labs. The institute has a green lush campus with a cool atmosphere. There are a lot of facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: The faculty members are experienced. Many captains and chief engineers are teaching and assisting throughout the course. Our faculty members are seasoned master mariners and chief engineers with great dedication. Our faculty trains us to become seafarers and not just to have a degree.
Other: The lifestyle is strict but also very enjoyable.
