IIIT Sri City M.Tech admissions are taken, either through GATE or IIIT Sri city own application process. The eligibility and selection criteria for M.Tech is given below:

The selection process of IIIT Sri City M.Tech for Non-GATE is divided into two categories a)Non-GATE candidates with an undergraduate degree from CFTI institutes b) Non-GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA). 

Selection process for both the categories is mentioned below:

Non GATE Candidates with an Undergraduate degree from CFTI Institutes

• The candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 8.0 CGPA to fall under this category.
• Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Coding Test and Personal Interview conducted by IIIT Sri City.

Non GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA)

• Candidates who does not have an undergraduate degree from a CFTI Institute or the aggregate score from CFTI institute is less than 8.0 CGPA, falls under this category.
• The selection is based on the entrance test conducted by IIIT Sri City, the syllabus of this entrance test is similar to GATE Syllabus.
• After appearing for the entrance test, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Coding test followed by a personal interview.
• Prior work experience will be given additional weightage in the selection process.

After graduating from the IIIT Sri city, students life will be quite rewarding. This could be seen from the placements offered to the IIIT Sri city students. Along with studies, students will given apportunities to take part in the extracurricular activities. There are various events arranged in the campus for students. The college arranges conferences, seminars, and various other events for students. 

The Institute has various means to travel to the Institute. IIIT Sri City is well connected to the roadways. For candidates coming in from various parts of India, airways and railways is an affordable option. The Institute can be reached through public transports as well within the city. Tirupati Airport and the Chennai Airport are the some of the options to ease out the candidates for airway means. People coming from Chennai to the IIIT Sri City can board a plane, or can take taxi, or can arrive campus via the nearest bus stop.

IIIT Sri City shifted to a new campus in 2018. The classroom infrastructure includes a total of 15 fully air conditioned classrooms that are equipped with several modern audio visual aids. The college classrooms are enabled with several lecture capturing tools. The college has two research centres, Centre for Smart Cities (CSC) and Ministry of Education initiated Design and Innovation Centre (DIC).
