IIM Shillong is very good and provides many facilities.
Placements: IIM Shillong provides good placements. The TNP cell of IIM Shillong encourages students to learn new things that help their careers. They will conduct workshops based on job-oriented learning. The highest package is 30 LPA. The average package is 15 LPA. In IIM Shillong, almost all students got internship opportunities in the 2nd year. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Tata, Accenture, Cognizant, etc., are top recruiters.
Infrastructure: Our institute has marvelous infrastructure and provides all facilities. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate a large number of students. They have a hostel for both boys and girls. In the hostel, there are good facilities with neat rooms and good food quality. The staff care about study very well.
Faculty: Faculty members at IIM Shillong are very good and use whiteboards to explain problems. They use presentations to explain topics in detail. Exams are held very strictly by the college. They provide assignments as internal exams. They conduct mid-term and semester exams after a gap of one month. The passing percentage is 70%.

Hard Reality of IIM Shillong 1 year course.
Placements: Out of 26 students only 14 students got placed by Placement cell, rest 5 got job after many difficulties through outside sources. 6 students are still struggling for getting a job after 5.5 months of course end. The highest Placement India- 20 LPA
the highest Placement Outside- 28LPA
the lowest placement - 10LPA
Top Roles - Sr. Consultant by Cognizant & Accenture.
Infrastructure: Facilities were not upto the mark, no proper infrastructure. Every time internet issues in the campus, no special tools were provided to faculty members for online teaching like good camera, sound system. Out of 1.15 hr session, 20 minutes wasted in connecting to the platform. Canteen food is the worst, rely on outside food if you have money to spend.
Faculty: All teachers and study materials used were too old, not new technologies used for teaching. Even study materials need to be updated to keep students upto date from the changing market conditions. No it doesn't make the student industry ready, that's why still students are struggling to get job. Semester exams are too easy to clear.
Other: I chose this college for the IIM tag but got the reality after entering the college. Nothing best happened to our batch as we were Covid Victim. First of all college need to understand the market needs and remove the "n" no of cultural courses from the curriculum. Cultural courses are just reducing the no of courses and it doesn't give any benefit to the students.

Other: The campus facilities and exposure which it provides through its events are fabulous, the placements are only average. The fee structure at my time of joining was very high, which I feel is not worth the money as the ROI is lowered. The faculty is not up to the mark and even the college crowd is not so great. I will not recommend this college to others.

Other: The course is a relatively new one but only a few colleges offer a course with a focus on China. Overall, we are not treated as the kids of flagship courses are. PGP seems to run the college and the administration says they are bound by what students says and not vice versa. Placements can never be merged although the executive batch would lose out if this ever happens in any college. Food: Not as good as it should be. Passable but not palatable. Faculty: We do have a good faculty and we are able to negate the geographic disadvantage to some extent. Hostel and other infrastructure: Smartboards never worked the way they should have despite being advertised in the brochure. Classrooms are makeshift arrangements until shifted to a new permanent campus which would still take some time. Fests/Clubs: We do have various clubs which are good but the friction between the two courses won’t let you participate as much as you would want to. TedEx and LEAD: Both events are good. Our own Golf Cup: PGPEx is not usually present at this time of the year but this is the only way to attract CEOs to Shillong. Need to work a lot to bring it at par of IIM-K or let us aim for IIM-C since it is the closest and the mentor IIM. Do not join this course if you are interested in just placements. This won’t help you and truly no college can.
