IIMC Kottayam Highlights 2025
Indian Institute of Mass Communication Kottayam was set up as the Southern Regional Centre of IIMC at Kottayam Kerala in 1995 to extend its national footprint. It was established to train working journalists, public relations professionals and state information officers. The students of IIMC Kottayam have been recruited in diverse international, national and regional news organisations such as Reuters, WION, PTI, The Times of India, The Indian Express, Mathrubhumi and Malayala Manorama.
It currently only offers Online PG Diploma in English Journalism and Online PG Diploma in Malayalam Journalism. IIMC Kottayam will be situated in approximately 10 acres of campus in Pampady area of Kottayam after the construction of its permanent campus. The permanent campus will have an administrative block, separate hostels for boys and girls, and faculty quarters.

Admission to the course will be based on the online Indian Institute of Mass Communication entrance exam conducted by National Test Agencies. Two separate entrance exams are conducted for both specializations. The Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Kottayam offers a one-year Postgraduation Diploma in two specializations. Candidates who have appeared or appearing for the Final semester or year examination of their Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply. The age of the students must not be more than 25 years. Result-awaited candidates can also apply on a provisional basis. The age limit and reservation of seats are also considered for admission.
