Placements: Placements are above average even at the time of covid. Almost all students managed to get an internship. Many students take up job in software companies or prepare for government jobs because in mechanical there is not so high salary in core sector. The average salary package offered is 7-8 LPA for mechanical.
Infrastructure: There are not enough hostels for all the students. Hostels are given to the first-year students through JEE main rank, and in subsequent years through their performance in exams. It is a small college of around 100 acres. There are around 5,000 students in B.Tech, and then M.Tech and Ph.D. too. There is one main building where all departments are there. Wi-Fi facilities are good with50 Mbps speed in college and hostel. LAN facilities are available, but Raipur is a hot area so first-year students...
Placements: Our seniors got placed in the college. I don't know about the other branches, but our IT seniors said that the average salary package offered was up to 15 LPA. The highest salary package was more than 60 LPA, offered abroad. So if one works hard enough he/she can get a decent job offer.

NIT Trichy is better than the colleges which have the working field for the core jobs like NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Raipur, etc. Because the activities provided at NIT Trichy will overpower that. Hope it helps.

I think it does not matter in which NIT you are studying, what matters is that the branch that you have taken is of your interest, as when you get job, you will perform better when it is of your interest. One should not care about the package but care about his or her interest.
