The selection process for admission to the IIFM Bhopal Doctoral Programme in Management course is based on a broader range of entrance exams, including CAT/GMAT/UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET/GATE/ICAR NET. Other than this, admission of students also depends on their performance in the subsequent GDPI round. Therefore, having a CAT percentile of 75 may not be  the only  threshold for admission to the DPM programme at IIFM Bhopal.

The IIFM Bhopal PhD eligibility criteria state that students who have a Master's degree or Post Graduate Diploma/BE or BTech Degree or its equivalent followed by at least 2 years of relevant work experience/Professional qualifications namely CA, ICWA, or CS, are eligible to apply. Students who wish to live on campus premises can opt for the facilities. As per the official website, the institute has four hostels, namely Nilgiri, Vindhyachal, Aravalli, and MDP Block.

Each hostel is equipped with furnished rooms, a hot water facility, a recreational area, a TV, a mess, and more.
