IIIT Ranchi Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate Courses

IIIT Ranchi offers BTech courses and has UG, PG and doctoral level courses. BTech, MTech and PhD are offered under multiple spcialisations mentioned below

IIIT Ranchi is a good college in all ways Campus, college life, fun, and Other Activities. As per the report, the highest package and average package offered during IIIT Ranchi placement 2023 stood at INR 83.38 LPA and INR 16.7 LPA, respectively. IIIT Ranchi is a Public-Private institute which was established in 2016 by the MoE, the Government of India, and the Government of Jharkhand along with the industry partners TCS, TTL,  and CCL in a Public Private Partnership. The college has been given the status of the of the Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament. To get admission to this college, candidates must have valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, and others.

IIIT Ranchi specially offers BTech courses. Candidates must score at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12 and apply through JoSAA. Then they have to appear for JEE Mains exam and apply through JoSAA. Candidates can visit the official website of the college to fill up the application form and register for JoSAA. The JoSAA 2024 registration process started on June 10, 2024. There will be five rounds of JoSAA counselling. JoSAA released Rounds 1 and 2 seat allocation results and cutoffs. Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For JEE Main Round 6 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 32555 and closing rank was 40065 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Electronics & Communication Engineering (Embedded Systems and Internet of Things) in IIIT Ranchi is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

Candidates wishing to take admission in full-time sponsored research scholar PhD at IIIT Ranchi should have completed ME/MTech or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate score/ 6.0 CPI.  SC/ST/ PwD candidates will be given a relaxation of 5 % marks. Along with this, applicants should have any if the below mentioned qualification: 

• Qualified CSIR/ UGC/ DAE/ NBHM/ DST/ DBT/ ICAR/ICMR/ ICPR or secured funding from such an agency.
• Applicants should be financed by the Government /Semi-Government/ academic/industry /research lab.
• Applicants should be nominated by Government of India/State under a Cultural Exchange Scholarship Programme, or a scholar admitted under an MOU.

JEE Main is conducted for multiple courses and the syllabus is different for each course. The syllabus of JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) includes class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics topics. For JEE Main paper 2A B.Arch the syllabus consists of Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing. Similarly, for JEE Main Paper 2B B. Plan the syllabus is Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning. Students who want a seat at IIT Ranchi would need to attain the course, round and category-wise cutoff. The IIT Ranchi cutoff 2026 was published for round 1 for different All India categories. 

For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 36511 to 41700. Hence, students need to attain a rank of at least 41700 or below to gain admission to this institution. Candidates can see the table below to know the maximum rank accepted in the first round by various AI categories.

IIIT Ranchi considers the score of GATE exam for M.Tech admission. However, it is not compulsory. The M.Tech admission will be through online/offline counselling based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview by the respective departments at IIIT Ranchi.

The minimum duration of the PhD programme at IIIT Ranchi (excluding dropped
semester (s)/maternity leave) is three years (36 months) from the date of joining. The maximum period for completing the PhD programme is seven years (excluding maternity leave) from the date of admission.

PhD admission at IIIT Ranchi is ongoing for the academic session 2026. The last date of submission of application form is June 30, 2026.  Candidates have to submit application form online through the admission portal of IIIT Ranchi.
