Review of Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management.
Placements: Every year, more than 90% of our students are placed. The highest salary package offered was 14 LPA, the average salary package offered was 7 LPA – 8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies like ITC, Aditya Birla, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bandhan Bank, Flipkart, and Amazon visited our campus. Every year, almost 100% of students get internship chances in companies like ITC, Ambuja cement, E&Y, and CK Birla Hospital. Top roles offered are deputy manager, logistics in-charge, patient care coordinator, and floor manager.
Infrastructure: In our college, classrooms are well ventilated with a full air-conditioning system. Wi-Fi and lift facilities are available on campus. The campus is neat and clean. Gym facilities are available for boys. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. The hostel is just beside the campus. The food served is decent. There are in-house gaming doctor facilities available on campus.
Faculty: It is a government undertaking college. All faculty members are well qualified and very knowledgeable. They are very helpful and their teaching skills are good. The course curriculum is decent. The course teaches you how to think and what to think. It increases your thinking ability and makes you more knowledgeable. Continuous revision and regular study are very important to pass the exam. More than 90% of students pass every year.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to get a job at that time. An MBA was the only thing that could get you a decent job. The best thing about our course is that it is industry-related so you will not face any problems during placements. More faculty members are needed for better teaching. There are cells that organise cultural programs every year, like quiz programs, photography competitions, etc. Scholarships which are mainly provided by the state government are also available. Each department organises several events every year. The hospital management department organises a world health day program.

I am satisfied with my institution and proud to be a part of India's first business school.
Placements: There are top recruiting companies like Aditya Birla, TCS, PWC, Bhagirathi Neotia, ASG, century, Bandhan bank, and others out of west Bengal and out of the country that come for placement. Internships are also there from the best companies in each field. MBA-PS has four other separate courses such as hospital and healthcare management, transport and logistics, environment management, and energy management.
Infrastructure: The hostel fee is reasonable with good food. Good facilities like Wi-Fi, a separate washroom, and separate single and double rooms are also available. Medical facilities and the library is close to the hostel. There are not many restrictions in the hostel regarding other hostels. College hostels have good security policies.
Faculty: Teachers and professors are really helpful and supportive throughout the course. They motivate you to gain interest in your respective subjects. They make you ready for your life, not only for just placement interviews. They always try to give the best placement.

Dissatisfied with the placements in energy management for the batch of 2016-17.
Placements: I was in the 2015-17 batch of energy management. The Placements of on this year was not good enough. Out of 17 students, 12 were placed from the college. The package was not as masters level. The college said that highest package is 6.4 LPA, but in-hand the student gets only 26,000/- approximately. I also got 2 LPA package from job offered through the college placement. In 2014-16 batch, placement was a little bit good when compare to our batch because of low batch strength. The college is not much concerned about the placements. If anyone wants to get a high salary, it totally depends on own capability.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IISWBM is not good enough as compared to other MBA institute. The classrooms are good but very old-fashioned. Medical facility and student activity centre are there. There is a huge collection of books in the library, and it is well-maintained. The quality of food provided by the canteen is very poor. Wi-Fi is not working all around the campus. The hostel infrastructure is good, but food quality is not good enough.
Faculty: The faculty members are low when compare to other MBA colleges. The faculty members are all an average good and helpful. The problem is the old syllabus. The syllabus of IISWBM for energy management is obsolete. That's why students are facing problem during the interview. I think industry exposure for energy management is not good enough. Students need more industry visit. The course is good, but there is a need to change the syllabus.

Other: It's the oldest Management College, in entire India, which is having a 60 years+ legacy of yielding some of the nation's finest graduates. Under the umbrella of Calcutta University, it's itself a brand which has not been in focus since many years due to lack of advertisement. Brand names like ITC, Nestle, Coke, ACC, Land Mark group, TCI, Exide etc. are long associated with this alma mater.
