IMS BHU Admission 2025: Fee, Eligibility, Selection Process & Dates

The application forms for IMS BHU admission are released at different times depending on the program. Here are the relevant dates for each program:

• BHU MBBS/BDS 2023: The application form is already released and NEET-qualified candidates can fill it out till July 25
• BHU MBA Admission 2023: The application form was released on October 03, 2022
• BHU B.V.Sc Admissions: The last date to apply is August 18, 2023
• BHU Fellowship 2023: The application form needs to be submitted in the Office of the Director, IMS, BHU, Varanasi - 221005 by July 08, 2023
• BHU Senior Resident: The application form is currently invited for the vacant post of Senior Resident (Not Linked with Course) in the Faculty of Medicine, Ayurveda and Dental Sciences, IMS, BHU

Candidates who get selected to pursue a BSc in Nursing at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU must confirm their admission by submitting the applicable fees. The total tuition fee for a BSc at IMS BHU is INR 900. Furthermore, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee of INR 800 at admission. This includes Enrolment Fee, Admission Fee, I-Card and Passbook Fee, College Caution Money, and Degree Charges. The mentioned fee is sourced from the official website of the college/sanctioning body. Candidates who are allocated an BDS seats at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU through the NEET UG counselling must confirm their admission by submitting the applicable fees. The total BDS fee at IMS BHU is INR 1.67 lakh for the entire course duration. In addition to the course fee, selected candidates may have to pay certain one-time fees at admission. For admission to IMS BHU, the NEET MDS cutoff 2024 was released for the last round. For the SC AI category candidates, the Cutoff was concluded during Round 1, wherein the available course for the category was MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics having the closing cutoff of 654, for the SC AI category candidates. However, the IMS BHU NEET MDS Cutoff for the ST AI category is not known. 

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 866 and closing rank was 2735. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam NEET. MBBS admission to BHU, Institute of Medical Sciences, is mainly based on NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) Candidates must have the minimum percentage marks required in NEET and they attend MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) counselling. Institute of Medical Sciences is the medical school of Banaras Hindu University which is residential and co-educational just like the other institutions of the university. IMS BHU is ranked 8th in the Medical Category and 18th in the Dental Category.Institue of Medical Science- BHU is a public university operated under Banaras Hindu University.The MBBS fee is approximately INR30000 (tution fee)+hostel fee seperately. The cutoff for the college was INR 32000.The fee for first year student is INR 13410 and from second onward it is INR 11610. The total fee for the course is INR 164000.

To be eligible for BSc course at IMS BHU, Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) to be eligible for admission Further, they must also appear for NEET UG, the accepted entrance exam for BSc (Nursing) admission ar IMS BHU. They must hold all the required documents to prove their eligibility during the admission process.

During the IMS BHU cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank was 1084 for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course. In 2022 and 2021, the last round closing ranks stood at 2735 and 974, respectively for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for All India General category students. The cutoff is high in IMS-BHU as it ranked the 5 best medical colleges in India.

The reservation policy for NEET counselling is as per the landmark judgement passed by the Supreme Court of India in 2021, here would be 27 per cent OBC quota in NEET (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10 per cent NEET reservation for EWS in 15 per cent Under Graduate (UG) All India Quota seats (MBBS/BDS) (contributed by the State/UTs to the Central Pool). Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU BSc admission is subject to clearing the NEET UG cut-off prescribed for the particular admission year. The cut-off also varies depending on the caste/reservation category of the applicants. Based on the previous year's cut-off,  the NEET UG rank at which BSc admission was granted to General category candidates is around 1.06 Lacs (for the last round). In 2023, the closing rank for the General category candidates was 27,931.

Candidates have to pay both refundable and non refundable fees for UP NEET 2025 counselling registration. The non refundable fees for UP NEET 2025 counselling is INR 2,000. Over the past three years, the cut-off ranks required for IMS BHU MBBS admission have shown an inconsistent or fluctuating trend. In 2024, the closing rank for the last round of MBBS admission was 1,098 for the General AI category candidates. The same was 1,084 in 2023 and 2,735 in 2022. To apply for BSc Nursing at IMS BHU, aspirants are required to apply for the NEET UG entrance exam. It is usually conducted in May. The application process for the same is conducted between  February and March every year. In 2025, NTA released the NEET 2025 notification, information bulletin and NEET 2025 application form on February 7, 2025. The last date to submit the filled up application form was March 7, 2025 (11.50 PM).
