Q:   How can I get seat in KGMU?

A: 

To get a seat in KGMU, the application process is completely online. For admission to courses such as MBBS, BDS, DM, etc., candidates are selected based on national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS, etc. The application process for these courses must be submitted on the official website of NTA or the respective entrance exam. While, there are a few courses for which the application must be submitted on the official website of KGMU such as BSc. Find below the course-wise application process for KGMU:

  • MBBS: Students seeking admission to MBBS are required to apply via the NEET UG entrance exam. They can register themselves on the official website of NTA NEET or directly go to (examinationservices.nic.in/Neet2023/Registration/Instruction.aspx). There, students must register, fill out the application form, upload all the scanned images for required documents and make payment of the application fee. 
  • MD/ MS/ MDS/ MCh/ DM: For admission to the PG courses, except for MSc, students are required to apply via the official website of INICET. Interested candidates have to complete the following four stages: basic registration, confirming the status of basic registration, code generation and final registration.
  • BSc & Diploma: For these courses, candidates can visit the official website of KGMU and fill an application form in an online mode.

Q:   Can I get direct admission to KGMU Lucknow?

A: 

KGMU Lucknow offers direct admission to only BSc aspirants. For BSc course, the selection is based on the last qualifying exam of Class 12. For other Medical and Dental courses such as MBBS, BDS, MD, DM, etc., candidates are selected based on national-level entrance exams. Admission to these courses is completely based on a valid scores of NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS, etc., entrance exams. Q:   What is the cutoff for MBBS at KGMU - King George's Medical University for other than General categories?

A: 

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University other than General category are - 2029 for OBC, 106643 for SC, 56190 for ST, 1844 for EWS, 204412 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in NEET exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State.

Q:   Can I get admission to MBBS at KGMU without NEET?

A: 

KGMU offers admission to MBBS course for a duration to five and half years (66 months). Admission to MBBS courses is entirely entrance-based. In order to get admission to MBBS course at KGMU, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised board. Form MBBS admissions, KGMU accepts valid scores of NEET UG, which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. Candidates who qualifiy this exam will be allocated seats as per NEET UG Counselling in various rounds. 

Q:   What is the fee for MBBS at KGMU?

A: 

KGMU offers UG-level MBBS courses to students. Admission to this course is made only through NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Students must fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission to various courses at King George Medical College Lucknow. The fee for MBBS at King George Medical College Lucknow (KGMU) is INR 2.46 lakh. The total course fee for KGMU is inclusive of multiple components such as Application Fees, Development Charges, Examination Fees, Library Fees, Hostel Fees, Alumni Fees, etc. However, the KGMU MBBS fee is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Q:   What are the qualification requirements for MBBS at KGMU?

A: 

In order to get admission to MBBS at KGMU, there is minimum eligibility criteria for this course. Those who are willing to get admission to MBBS must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects for General category candidates. However, there is a five percent relaxation for reserved category candidates. Candidates from PWD category are required to get 45% and SC/ ST candidates must get minmum of 40% aggregate. Q:   How many seats are available for MBBS at KGMU?

A: 

Presently, KGMU offers admission to MBBS course on 250 seats. Candidates are selected based on a valid rank obtained in NEET UG entrance exam. At KGMU, all the seats are filled with UP state NEET UG counselling process, which is conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) particularly for the state colleges of KGMU. Wonderful campus of KGMU.
Placements: The batch is of 250 students in MBBS. Internship is compulsory in the course. Most of the students go for NEET PG exam and get selected in their dream branches and pursue further courses instead of going for placement after MBBS. Georgians are everywhere in the world.
Infrastructure: Campus is the real beauty of KGMU. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Each hostel has Wi-Fi services. Central library has a huge collection of books. Library services are both online and offline. Reading rooms are also available in hostels for reading, near your room.
Faculty: Regular classes are held. Experienced and best faculty of India are present here. Faculty is very helping in nature, helps in researches being conducted by students for ICMR and others. Yearly professional exam is conducted. Exams are tough but everyone passes.

It is one of the best medical colleges.
Placements: Almost all students got placed. The highest salary was around Rs. 98,000 per month, and the lowest was around Rs. 36,000 per month. Many companies came here for different purposes. MBBS is a course of 4.5 years and 1 year of internship. After five and a half years, you will get your professional MBBS degree.
Infrastructure: It had the best infrastructure in India. Labs were excellent. Classrooms were good. They had a good atmosphere.
Faculty: Exams were conducted on a regular basis for practice. Faculty members set the papers on the basis of the NEET PG level. The standard of the papers was good. Teachers here were experienced doctors. They were good in their fields. They were very friendly and helpful to students. They tried their best to teach every topic in very simple ways. Students could understand the complex topic very easily.
Other: MBBS was my dream. I always want to be a part of this community because a doctor saving a patient's life is the most satisfying thing for me. The festival was good and enjoyable.

Placements: Our college provides many job opportunities. All the departments of paramedical students get internships in our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. It consists of free Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and an advanced library. Hostel is not provided for paramedical students.

Placements: You can earn up to 1 CPA as an MBBS doctor. A 1-year internship is compulsory for every student. After MBBS, 2 years of rural service bond is mandatory. You can start your private practice after this 2 years of rural service bond.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is the best compared to other medical colleges in India. All buildings, hospitals, and classrooms are fully air-conditioned and well-cleaned.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. They are well-trained doctors. At every path, you will get to learn a lot from faculty members. Exams are conducted smoothly every year as professionals. There is a lot of clinical exposure, so you can learn a lot from patients.
Other: Around 250 seats are available in the MBBS course. Our college is ranked 5th among the top government medical colleges in India. I chose to pursue MBBS from this college because it is very good and has an excellent infrastructure.
