KGMU Admission 2026: Dates, Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process

KGMU offers admission to MBBS course for a duration to five and half years (66 months). Admission to MBBS courses is entirely entrance-based. In order to get admission to MBBS course at KGMU, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised board. Form MBBS admissions, KGMU accepts valid scores of NEET UG, which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. Candidates who qualifiy this exam will be allocated seats as per NEET UG Counselling in various rounds. 

KGMU NEET UG cutoff 2024 has been concluded for admission to the MBBS and BDS courses. For KGMU, round 4 was the last-round for BDS. For MBBS, round 3 was the concluding round for the General AI category students seeking admission in 2024. As per the KGMU MBBS cutoff 2024, the latest (last-round) cutoff was 2059. The cutoff trend for medical Courses at KGMU - King George's Medical University has been decreasing in recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for medical courses under the General category for all India quota was 767224. In 2022, it decreased to 25581. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 845560 to 31682 for OBC, 900889 to 120239 for SC, 767224 to 24859 for EWS, 767224 to 23381 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for medical education in India continues to grow.

The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group. 

KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India. According to the KGMU (King George's Medical University) cutoff for Round 2 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BDS and MBBS specialisations ranged from 1647 to 26203. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission to KGMU - King George's Medical University.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, the opening rank was 20731 and the closing rank was 25581. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam NEET. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying for while checking for cut-offs.

KGMU NEET UG Round 1 cutoff for KGMU Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is 1097 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this.

With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting KGMU admission to MBBS.

Admissions to MD at KGMU is entirely done via NEET PG scores. To apply for KGMU MD admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET PG entrance exam in the first place. For that, aspirants must fill an online application form on the official website of NEET PG. The step-wise application process  for KGMU is given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website and register yourself.

Step 2: No candidate can register for more than one application

Step 3: Fill the application form with all the mandatory details.

Step 4: Pay the application fees online through debit/ credit card/ net banking.

Step 5: Check the status of your application including images in your ‘My Page’ section.

Step 6: Take a printout of the application form for future use.

NEET PG schedule involves dates of events related to exam. Whole schedule is released by exam conducting body along with the official information brochure. From last few years, the exam is getting delayed from its usual schedule. NEET PG 2023 exam was held in March while NEET PG 2022 exam in May. In 2021, the exam was held in september. NEET PG exam used to be held in January before Corona. NEET PG 2024 exam was held on August 11, 2024. NEET PG 2025 was scheduled on June 15, 2025 but it was postponed to August 3, 2025 Candidates can refer the table comprising tentative dates for NEET PG exam for 2025-26 session.

NTA is expected to start the NEET 2026 registration in the first week of February. The last date of application is likely to be scheduled for first week of March. NEET 2026 will be conducted in the first week of May. 

The last year’s 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University other than the General category are - 31682 for OBC, 120239 for SC, 24859 for EWS, 23381 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in the NEET exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State.
