CUET Exam Day Guidelines 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the CUET exam day guidelines 2026 along with the CUET 2026 admit card. The CUET admit card 2026 along with the details of the examination centre, and timing, also contains the do’s and don'ts for the CUET exam and the list of prohibited items for the aspirants. National Testing Agency will conduct CUET UG in Computer mode in multiple-day window. The number of slots and exam timing will be depend on number of students applying for exam. CUET UG 2026 exam will be held from May 11 to May 31. The exam will be held in CBT format for 37 subjects. Candidates can check the CUET 2026 allotted exam centre upon release of CUET intimation slip and CUET admit card. Only candidates who will fill the CUET application form along with the successful application fee payment will be able to download the intimation slip for CUET exam. The name of exam centre will be mentioned on the intimation alip in advance to help candidates make preparations accordingly. The CUET 2026 admit card is expected to release three to four days prior to the day of examination in online mode. Last year, NTA did not release the official CUET examination schedule, however, candidates can check the schedule for applied subjects on their admit cards, when released. CUET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Dress Code
On the day of the examination, candidates must follow the CUET exam dress code to appear for the test. Refer below to know the CUET 2026 exam day guidelines for dress prescribed by NTA:
- Heavy clothes with long sleeves will not be permitted.
- In case, candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.
- Slippers, and sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not permitted.
- In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the release of CUET 2026 admit card.

CUET Exam 2026: Carry These Items on CUET 2026 Exam Day
Apart from the CUET 2026 Admit Card, candidates must also carry the following documents to the CUET test centres:
- Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in

CUET Exam 2026: What Not To Carry In CUET Exam Hall
Candidates will not be permitted to take items such as:
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Correction fluid
- Calculator
- Logarithm table
- Electronic gadgets
- Mobile phones
- No Candidate is allowed to enter the Centre wearing his/her own mask. A fresh Mask will be provided at the Centre. Personal masks will be disposed of in a closed pedal push bin provided at the Centre
- Shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted
- Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheet(s) and must hand over the sheet/s to the invigilator without fail, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in a non-evaluation of your answers

CUET UG English 2026 exam will be scheduled tentatively between May and June 2026. NTA has not released the official CUET UG 2026 datesheet online. On release of the official CUET admit card, candidates can know the subject wise CUET exam dates and slot timings. Candidates can also check the exam date, time and slot number.
To appear for CUET UG exam, candidates must make sue to follow the below mentioned dress code:
- Candidates must not wear long sleeve clothes.

CUET 2026: Important Instructions for CUET UG Exam
Candidates who are appearing for the CUET exam 2026 are advised to check the CUET exam day guidelines below:
- Candidates should try to reach the examination centre 1-2 hours before the CUET Exam begins. It must be noted that candidates will not be allowed to enter the CUET 2026 exam centre 30 minutes prior to the exam commencement.
- No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Room/ Hall before the end of the examination
- Candidates are advised to verify the location of the test venue a day in advance so that they do not face any problems on the day of the test
- If religion/customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit the Centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking
- Frisking through a Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD) will be carried out without physical touch
- Candidates must enter the required details, paste the Photograph and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the CUET Admit Card 2026. They should ensure that their Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged
- Candidate must carry “Any one of the original and valid Photo Identification Proof issued by the Government”- PAN card/Driving Licence/Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No. with Photo. All other ID/Photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in the mobile phone will NOT be considered as valid ID Proof.
- A PwD candidate may be allowed Compensatory/ Extra time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination, whether such a candidate(having a physical limitation to write) uses the facility of Scribe or not
- PwBD candidates must bring a PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming relaxation under the PwD category. The Scribe provided by the NTA must also carry his/ her own Self Declaration (Undertaking) regarding educational qualification, passport size photograph, valid government identity
- A duly filled-in Admit Card must be handed over to the Invigilator while leaving the examination Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in the non-evaluation of your answers
- No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination practices. All the Examination Centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers
- The candidate should ensure that the Question Paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject/medium of the Question Paper is other than his/her opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned
- The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same
- If at any stage, it is found that the candidate has submitted multiple applications, his/her candidature will be cancelled and legal action will be taken including debarring in all future examinations conducted by NTA.
CUET UG 2026 Rough Sheet
National Testing Agency will provide the CUET UG 2026 rough sheet on each exam day. Candidates are not required to carry the extra sheet or pen at the exam centre. Candidates must know how to use the CUET UG rough sheet to appear for the exam successfully. CUET rough sheet will be provided to candidates once the exam begins and must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the exam centre.
CUET UG 2026 Admit Card
National Testing Agency will release the CUET UG 2026 admit card 2-3 days before the exam date. Registered candidates can download CUET hall ticket by entering their CUET application number and password at official website- cuet.nta.nic.in. CUET admit card 2026 is an important document that has to be carried on the day of examination. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the CUET exam centre without the admit card. NTA will release CUET admit card 2026 phase-wise.
