IMS BHU Admission 2025: Fee, Eligibility, Selection Process & Dates

The application forms for IMS BHU admission are released at different times depending on the program. Here are the relevant dates for each program:

• BHU MBBS/BDS 2023: The application form is already released and NEET-qualified candidates can fill it out till July 25
• BHU MBA Admission 2023: The application form was released on October 03, 2022
• BHU B.V.Sc Admissions: The last date to apply is August 18, 2023
• BHU Fellowship 2023: The application form needs to be submitted in the Office of the Director, IMS, BHU, Varanasi - 221005 by July 08, 2023
• BHU Senior Resident: The application form is currently invited for the vacant post of Senior Resident (Not Linked with Course) in the Faculty of Medicine, Ayurveda and Dental Sciences, IMS, BHU

For 2022, the cutoff was 2735 for the General category candidates in the All India quota for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU. The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU other than General category are - 1679 for OBC, 56587 for SC, 96058 for ST, 1442 for EWS, and 72502 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in NEET exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 866 and closing rank was 2735. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Institute of Medical Sciences BHU does not offer direct admission. IMS BHU primarily relies on national-level entrance exams like NEET-UG for undergraduate programs (like MBBS and BSc Nursing) and NEET-PG, NEET-SS, and NEET-MDS for postgraduate and super-specialty courses. After qualifying the relevant entrance exam, candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. 

Institute of Medical Sciences is the medical school of Banaras Hindu University which is residential and co-educational just like the other institutions of the university. IMS BHU is ranked 8th in the Medical Category and 18th in the Dental Category.Institue of Medical Science- BHU is a public university operated under Banaras Hindu University.The MBBS fee is approximately INR30000 (tution fee)+hostel fee seperately. The cutoff for the college was INR 32000.The fee for first year student is INR 13410 and from second onward it is INR 11610. The total fee for the course is INR 164000.

MBBS admission to BHU, Institute of Medical Sciences, is mainly based on NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) Candidates must have the minimum percentage marks required in NEET and they attend MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) counselling. To be eligible for BSc course at IMS BHU, Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) to be eligible for admission Further, they must also appear for NEET UG, the accepted entrance exam for BSc (Nursing) admission ar IMS BHU. They must hold all the required documents to prove their eligibility during the admission process.

Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU offers 100 seats for its BSc (Nursing) programme. The course seats are filled by the college based on the preset eligibility and selection criteria. The rank required to get admission to BAMS at Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU varies every year and is based on the NEET-UG entrance exam scores obtained by the candidates. The cutoff marks are the minimum marks required to be eligible for the next round of the selection process. The selection process includes counseling and seat allotment based on the candidate's rank in the NEET-UG entrance exam. The category-wise cutoff for BAMS in the NEET-UG percentile for the general category is 50th and for SC/ST/OBC it is 40th. The safest score for BHU should be 450+ and for UP government colleges, it should be approximately 400.

To secure MBBS admission at IMS BHU, candidates must register for NEET UG entrance exam. After appearing for the exam, they must register for the subsequent NEET UG counselling for seat allocation. No separate application is required to get admitted to the MBBS programme of the institute.

Step 4: Pay the application fee online using a debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.

For admission to IMS BHU, the NEET MDS cutoff 2024 was released for the last round. For the SC AI category candidates, the Cutoff was concluded during Round 1, wherein the available course for the category was MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics having the closing cutoff of 654, for the SC AI category candidates. However, the IMS BHU NEET MDS Cutoff for the ST AI category is not known.
