A good college with trained and experienced faculty members and administration.
Placements: The college does not have a placement cell. However, students are trained to practice as an advocate in any court. It helps the students with internships in any reputed firm, company or under any practising lawyer. But if students want to get placed, they need to opt for off-campus recruitment. Currently, none of the law colleges under Calcutta University have a placement cell.
Infrastructure: The campus has two buildings. It has a library with lots of law books, study materials and journals. It also has a digital library and an auditorium. The college canteen provides food at reasonable prices. It has a separate union room. The canteen is situated at the rear end of the college. The college also plants trees and maintains a garden area that adds to the beauty of the college.
Faculty: The faculty members and administration are average. The college provides an integrated 5-year B.A LL.B course. The honours course is provided to meritorious students who are performing well in the semester exams. The batch of each year has a strength of 120 students. The college also provides an LLM degree to its students. The students have to qualify an entrance examination under Calcutta University to join this college.
Other: There is a fest or socials organised by the student union every year. Apart from that, it organises a number of cultural events, legal aid workshops, seminars, essay writing competitions, debates, a national level moot court competition, etc. The union members and the faculty together organise an educational excursion every year.

A good place to learn all about law.
Placements: The college does not offer any placement. Students have to sit for off campus placement on their own merit. In general Colleges under Calcutta for law does't offer placement. That's the only drawback studying under this University and college. Students have to do internship every semester to build a strong CV and learn all the practical aspects of law. Since the college timings are in the morning (6:30am to 11am), students can always do internship in the second half. They can visit courts.
Infrastructure: The college has two buildings. Classes are big and spacious. The library is well-equipped with all the latest books and is available all the time. Games room is upto the mark and so is the auditorium. The canteen is clean and hygienic and offers both Vegetarian and non vegetarian food.
Faculty: The faculty is friendly and the teachers ensure that we follow all our classes well. Attendance is pretty strict and bunking classes is a big no. Teachers provide us with all the notes and the lectures prove fruitful during the exams. The number of girls to boys ratio is 50:50 and each class has around 60 students.
Other: The anuual college socials is the biggest attraction. Moot court is conducted every year and debates are conducted every six months. There is active participation in all college events. Ambiance is nice and friendly. Students need to apply for scholarship if in need of financial help.

I m not sure it is completely dependent upon the seats that are left. Government colleges are the best. But I think you should not take a risk and go for Shyambazzar college.
