Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology (JIST), also popularly known as IIT Sotai.

Faculty: Civil engineering department of JIST was headed by Dr. Sudarshan Patowary, an experienced and dedicated academician. The department had around 10 well-qualified faculty members who provided strong academic and practical guidance to students. Faculty members were supportive and actively involved in mentoring, research, and technical training. Examinations were conducted with strict discipline, ensuring fair evaluation and academic integrity. Everyone in the department appreciated Deepika ma'am fo...

It is an average college for science students.

Faculty: Teachers in our college were well-qualified and knowledgeable. They were not updated with the recent industry requirements. Teaching quality was based on the old technical courses. Students were not made ready for the industry as they didn't teach updated skills and followed the old course curriculum. Semester exams were easy to pass because only some portions of the syllabus were asked in the exams. Around 90% of students pass the exams. Some of the students who are not interested get backlogs.

Have some satisfaction as it doesn't have a good placement till now.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is good. However, in our college, students are not industry-ready because there are no industrial training opportunities available. Semester exams are some difficult but the pass percentage of students is between 70% and 80%.

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology formerly known as Science College.

Faculty: Yes, the faculty of my course are really good and are highly qualified for the course. Most of them have done there M.Tech from IITs and have good engineering experience like survey, construction, building constructions etc. The semesters are not that tough if you study regularly.

I am satisfied with this college.

Faculty: In this college, teachers are the best. They help students with every problem they face, be it academic or personal. They are well qualified and talented. If someone attends their classes punctually there is no doubt left. This course is much relevant that it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are of average level. The pass percentage is 90%.

As a student of JIST, I recommend this college to students who want to study B.Tech or B.Sc.

Faculty: The teachers are very hardworking. They provide notes, and the teaching process is very nice. Exams are compulsory, and they try to make them the best. They also give us hands-on things like prototypes to make, which are essential not only from an exam point of view but also for real life. Exams are average, the papers are neither too difficult nor too easy.

Our college is average enough to become an engineer.

Faculty: Teachers are recruited through APSC so all permanent teachers are highly qualified. They are helpful in some regards and I suggest not to create any mess with them. The course curriculum is prepared by ASTU and it's relevant to the industry. But one or two years of industry work can only make your skills industry-ready. Since practical field knowledge is more fruitful. The pass percentage for each semester varies between 60-70%. It's not that hard to pass if you study for atleast one month in fu...

Decent College, Needs Improvement .

Faculty: Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology (JIST) has a well-qualified faculty, with many holding M.Teach or Ph.D. degrees, including alumni from IITs. Professors are approachable and supportive. The curriculum is industry-oriented but may need update to match evolving trends. Semester exams are moderate difficult, assessing students? Understanding effective. Most students find them manageable with proper preparation, though exact pass percentage data is limited. Overall, JIST provides a solid a...

Joke of a college, the Jordan Institute of Science and Technology.

Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. Some teachers are not good, though. The course is good, but I cannot tell if it makes students ready for industry. Semester exams are good. Exams are conducted over a regular period of time in a good atmosphere. You cannot cheat on the exam.

It has the potential to become a great college, but the faculty are not that active.

Faculty: Teachers are experienced and good. Semester exams are not that hard, if you study even a little daily, you will pass easily.
