B.Des. in Fashion Communication - Batch of 2025

Our college needs genuine Improvement.
Placements: Almost 80% of the placements are provided in this course. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Nalli, H&M, Nalli, etc., recruit students from NIFT Bengaluru. Companies look for skills that are taught in photography, stylish, and a visual merchandising during the course.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi hardly works, and when it does, the connectivity is so less. The classrooms are so less technically equipped. The tables always hurt students, they and have caused a lot of bruises and bleeding. The hostel facility does not provide what it promises, and the rooms require renovation. Mess food is not up to the mark.
Faculty: Some teachers are worth the grind. They know how to carry the class and conduct lectures. While others do not understand how the course is about design and not art history. They teach what they want to and not what's relevant in the course. It is because of the attitude of some teachers that NIFT is not a college, it's a school. Semester exams are a lot of work but fun to do.
Other: I chose this course because of the less usage of papers and resources, and most of the things in our course are digital.

Our college has potential to improve.
Placements: Fashion communication has a class of 30-40 students amongst a batch of 200. As a fresher student yet to complete the course, I do not have experience in acquiring placements but to my knowledge, the average package can go from around 3 LPA to 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies include More, H&M, Decathlon, Monte Carlo, and various other organisations, and national and international. Internships are offered during the 3rd year and can be taken abroad as well. Roles offered include graphic designers, visual marketing and merchandising, advertising, and more.
Infrastructure: Facilities offered here are very rich and resourceful. The infrastructure is planned out very well and has been built to comprise a library, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, football table, carrom room as well as CAD labs. We also have material development machinery, appropriate equipment for various departmental specialities, well-maintained classes for lectures, and a mess for the students' nutritional needs. The mess doesn't offer a lot of variety or good quality food and also charges are high as every meal is to be paid for at that instant. The college does have a Wi-Fi network setup but the Wi-Fi is not as super-efficient as expected.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good but some teachers fail to understand and emphasise the difference between art and design. The curriculum seems irrelevant at times, especially during the first year. Teachers offer a lot of help when needed and are open to discussions but have a limited range of what they see as creative. The pass percentage is 50%. The exams aren't very tough given that we work throughout the year and avoid last-minute submissions.

It is costly for nothing, but the faculty members are friendly.
Placements: This year, pass-out seniors are not satisfied with placements. They said no company came for placements. They have to look on their own or either try in Internshala or LinkedIn. It is totally disappointing. I am just scared for our batch placements and future.
Infrastructure: The hostel is conjusted. There are no air-conditioners in classrooms and broken chairs. The hostel infrastructure is not that great, and we shared a 2 people room with 3. It charges Rs. 7,500 for each person for just a small corner with a bed, table, and half of the cupboard. Mess food is not healthy and tasteless too.
Faculty: We are paying a lot for things we never touched in college. Our college has been online for 2 years. They have been taking service, library, electricity and security fees from us. We have not used any of them for 2 years, and they charge around Rs. 10,000-15,000 per person for that.
Other: A fest organised is not that great. It has a less crowd.

One of the best design institutes.
Placements: The college offers good placement prospects with an effective placement cell. Good brands come for college placement or you can select a job acc to your own interest. The placement percent is over 90% with the average package around 3.5-4 Lacs per annum. The highest goes around 6-7 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Though set in a limited space, the infrastructure is applaudable. Boasting of a well designed and beautiful campus, the college has state-of-the-art labs for all departments with updated machines and software. The hostel (only available for girls) and mess are of fine quality too.
Faculty: Almost all the faculty members for this curriculum are well-versed in their field and have a good experience of teaching as well as working in the industry. They will push you hard to excel and stretch your limits and always be there to guide you. The course covers a wide variety of subjects over the 4 years making it really diverse and interesting.
Other: The campus crowd is a mix of students from different states, cultural and financial backgrounds and you'll always find someone of your own kind. There is no dearth of extra curricular activities and a lot of events, fests keep happening giving you much required break from the straining work.

A review on National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore.
Placements: The placements in our campus are good. Almost all the students get pre-placement offers from the companies they intern for in the final semester. But, if they don't get pre-placement, a lot of companies come to the campus for placement. Almost 90% of the students get jobs from campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very nice. It is very small, but beautiful and well designed. It is designed in the principle of the golden spiral. The classrooms are spacious with Wi-Fi facilities. We have a very big library with thousands of resources. Sports and games are part of our everyday lifestyle.
Faculty: The teachers are very well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. The teaching methods they use are good and helps us understand the things better. We do not get industry exposure much, but the curriculum I underwent was taught to me well and will certainly help in my life ahead.

It's studies is the top as compared to any other design college with top class faculty .
Placements: Gets an alumni tag with 98%placement rates till date. Top company like Amazon, Google etc. Brands and companies recruitment is available students got 72 Lacs package as the highest which is considered a big achievements for nift also the internship offers are diverse.
Infrastructure: Very good faculty as well the hostel. Wi-Fi is free of cost which is an amazing feature. Canteen food is manageable which is not bad. Classrooms are so interesting and also interactive that it doesn't feel that when a class has ended. And also the sports are having a wide range.
Faculty: Exams are on regular basis with proper time management. Teachers are highly qualified professionals in their respective field which give the youngsters the motivation to learn some new thing. Also the pass percentage is minimal a good studying student can easily achieve that.
Other: Extra curricular activities are like a game change which is good for niftians.

Hello there, Courses are never bad, all the courses have their own identity in the market. Placement depends on the institution. Choose only one i.e. fashion photography or graphic designer.
