The best opportunity to enter the fashion industry is through college.

Placements: The placements in college vary from year to year; usually, about 90% of students get placed, but it's not always through college placements. The course offers various understandings of various subjects like production marketing, management, merchandising, and much more. You get to learn the back end of the fashion industry.

Infrastructure: The hostel is like any other hostel you'll find in college, although the infrastructure isn't very good and seems old. The rooms are kept clean and cleaned regularly as well. You have to share with 3 or four people, depending on what room you get. Obviously, it's a different experience when it comes to having fun with your friends.

Faculty: We have three exams each semester. Assignment 1-30 marks Assignment 2 is for 30 marks and our final jury is for 40 marks. This is how the academic calendar works. The exams are highly based on creativity so it's a difficult and different world to navigate Sometimes teachers might like your work, sometimes they might not.

Other: It's a fun campus where you get to meet people from all over the country. It's a mini-India itself. You get to make friends of different ages and understand everyone's unique qualities. The college has two festivals around the year: one is spectrum, which is held on its own campus every even semester, whereas converge is held in the odd semester on different campuses around the country.

One of the finest place to study fashion.

Placements: Internships are mainly from garment manufacturing companies in Bangalore, Mysore etc. Students got placements according to their academic performance and professional skills. Garment industry is competitive than any other industry. NIFT students are exposed to industry from the start of their classes.

Infrastructure: We have unlimited Wi-Fi in the campus. Hostel is only for girls. We have Mac labs and labs for pattern making and garment construction. Library is available for 6 days a week. Online library is there too. Food quality in the mess is average. We have basketball court, badminton court and other sports and games. There is a campus psychological counsellor visit to our campus twice a week.

Faculty: The course curriculum is made in such a way that the students can enter the industry without any job experience. We have industrial visits and workshops as a part of our curriculum. Teaching quality is good. Teachers are available most of the time when we need them.

Other: Scholarship for students is available and the fee amount will be reimbursed if you are selected.

Really proud to be alumni of NIFT, great faculty members, decent placement & good infrastructure.

Placements: I passed out of NIFT Bangalore in the year 2017. The campus placement was average. Not everyone in my batch got placed through campus placement. But eventually, everyone got a job offer within 3 months. The highest package (Domestic) - 9 LPA, the highest package (International) - 21 LPA and avg Package (Domestic) - 3.6 LPA, the lowest package (Domestic) - 2.4 LPA. Top recruiters were Landmark group, Uniqlo Reliance industries, PVH (Tommy Hilfiger Calvin Klein), Shahi Exports, Laguna Clothing, Arvind Brands, Future Group, Aquarelle Group, Wazir Advisors, Threadsol, Date the Ramp etc. Roles offered were Buyer/ Assistant Buyer, Retail Merchandiser, Product Merchandiser, Consultant, Auditor, Production Manager, Production Planning & Control, IE, Quality Assurance.

Infrastructure: NIFT Bangalore is located in HSR LAYOUT (heart of the city). The campus is quite small when compared to other Centrally funded institutes. But in spite of its small size, the campus architecture & planning is quite good. The campus has a centralised canteen where you can get North Indian meals at very affordable rates. The quality of food used to be good. (Not aware of current situation). But even though you are still not satisfied with the quality of food, there are a lot of eateries just outside the campus - Domino's, Chandu Dhaba, Beijing bites, Chain Point, Fassos etc. Wi-Fi is available in the whole campus. Classroom & labs are well designed. Campus has labs for Garment construction, Pattern making, MAC Lab for AutoCAD designs, another lab for ERP planning. Hostel is only available for girls, there are no boys hostel, so u have to manage on your own.

Faculty: NIFT Bangalore has some really great faculty members who have great industry experience. You can reach out to the faculty members freely. Course & curriculum - NIFT focuses a lot on practical learning experience. The courses are designed in such a way that a lot of emphasis is laid on practical implementation of topics. Student have 2 weeks of textile internship in 2nd year, 3 months of Apparel Internship & 3-4 months of Graduation project. Meanwhile, lot of industry visits & guest lectures will be provided. Some of the courses specifically for B.FTech needs some changes in curriculum like introducing topics like Buying, Operations, Advanced Excel, Negotiation skills & Business Development.

Great college with great opportunities.

Placements: The placements are fine. There is not much saturation in the industry. The industry is already filled with our alumni, and the companies will demand the students from the specialised backgrounds to work rather than hiring engineers. High profile companies hire the students. The packages are fine to start with.

Infrastructure: The college campus is small but is built beautifully. The campus is made in a spiral form and utilises the maximum area. The wall paintings are done by students every year. All the blocks are fully equipped with lifts. The campus has a volleyball court and an amphitheatre.

Faculty: The teachers are highly professional and trained. All the queries are resolved. They are highly qualified and always there to help the students in any form that is possible. They use the very interactive manner of teaching. There are industry visits on a regular basis to give exposure to the students.

Other: The cultural fest is celebrated annually. Along with that, the other events are also organised on the campus.
