NIFT provides the best campus life.

Placements: Placements are good. E-commerce companies and fashion brands, like Amazon, Myntra, Zara, etc., are the recruiters. The average salary package offered is about 3 LPA-5 LPA. Students are placed in the design and marketing fields.

Infrastructure: NIFT Srinagar is the biggest among all NIFT branches. It has all the facilities, like DD labs, a library, a gym, GC labs, a mess, a canteen, hostels, a badminton court, a volleyball court, and a basketball court. The hostel staff are friendly. They treat us like their children. There is a new multispeciality hospital in front of our campus.

Faculty: Teachers here are friendly. They are highly qualified. Most of them are from NIFTs and NIDs. The course is relevant. We have multiple field visits, which help us to gain industrial knowledge. Semester exams are easy.

Overall, our college is performing well in academics, infrastructure, and student activities.

Placements: 100% of students are placed during placements. The highest package is 24 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. Many big designers, brands, and startups come. Almost every student gets placed from my Fashion Design department, and one student is working with Tarun Tahiliani. Career roles include stylist, assistant designer, senior designer, costume designer, creative director, and fashion manager.

Infrastructure: NIFT Srinagar has one of the best and largest infrastructures among all NIFT campuses, spread over 17 acres. It offers excellent facilities, including free Wi-Fi in academic blocks and hostels, fully furnished classrooms, and well-equipped labs. The library provides access to a wide range of physical and digital resources, including e-books and WGSN for fashion trend forecasting. The hostel rooms are clean, and spacious, and offer breathtaking views. The food menu is diverse, with four meals served daily. The medical facilities are reliable, and the campus supports fitness with an indoor stadium, outdoor courts, a cricket ground, and a well-equipped gym.

Faculty: Most teachers are Ph.D. graduates and well-qualified, and some are specially from NIFT for specialized areas. Of course, faculty members prepare us according to industry. It is a bit difficult because we have to showcase a lot of work during the jury exams. The passing percentage is mostly 98%.

Other: Since childhood, I have dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Discovering that NIFT is India’s premier institute for fashion design, I work hard, clear the entrance exam, and join NIFT Srinagar. I am currently pursuing Fashion Design, the core department of NIFT, which offers vast opportunities to explore creativity and innovative techniques without fabric limitations. The campus life is vibrant, with numerous fashion events, five held just last year, alongside celebrations of all major festivals and our annual fest, Spectrum. The campus is beautifully located near the airport, surrounded by scenic views, creating an inspiring environment for creativity and learning.
