B.E. in Power Engineering - Batch of 2014

If placements are kept aside other facilities and faculty are the best at NPTI, Nagpur.
Placements: 40% of the batch was placed. The highest package offered was 8 Lacs, the lowest package was 3.2 Lacs and the average package was 4 Lacs. Top recruitment companies were Thermax, JSW Energy, Reliance Energy and Hindalco. NPTI do not offer internship and roles offered are GET.
Infrastructure: Highly furnished classrooms and labs are available with computer lab for other work. Hostel facilities were below average with the only the exception of mess food which was above average. We were having a playground but no sports equipments were provided.
Faculty: Faculty and administration staff were very helpful and well qualified who used to help whenever needed. The course covered all the necessary topics related to power engineering and personal quality building. Yes, the course makes students industry-ready.
Other: It was luck by chance that I opted for this course and the best thing was that with the time my interest got doubled in the course. I wish that an internship of 2 months should be included in the course curriculum. There are few events which take place like Vidyul annual fest, regional events, Ganesh Stapana, etc.

B.E. in Power Engineering - Batch of 2018

Placements in our college were good before 5 years, but nowadays it is not good.
Placements: Only 17 students out of 65 in our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 6.25 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Vedanta, Hindalco, Philips, and Carbon Black visit our campus for placements. Top roles, like power plant operation and maintenance, are offered to the students. Only two students got an internship in companies like Reliance.
Infrastructure: The hostel was good. But in the hostel, there was no Wi-Fi facility. The library has books according to the syllabus. Food served in the mess was average. For a computer, the college has a special lab with specific timing. There is a small ground for outdoor sports. The college was old, so most of the infrastructure is also old here.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful. They have a good experience at teaching as well as regarding power plant. For some special class, the college invites experienced faculty from other colleges. The course curriculum is very old. They didn't update, and it is currently used in power plant.

Really good and satisfied with this course.
Placements: I passed out in 2015. there were 60 students in my class out of which 45 got placed. The highest package offered was Rs 6.4 Lacs per annum and the lowest was Rs 3.5 Lacs. The top recruiting company was Reliance power which took 12 students. 10% of the class got internships which were from Tata Power and Adani also. I learn how to work as a DCS engineer and maintain parameter for efficient working of the plant.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility was good as it is located in the central Nagpur. The college also offers medical facilities to the students and a doctor is always available in the campus. Sports and games facilities were also provided such as table tennis, cricket, basketball, football, badminton, etc.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified. Lots of them have field experience so they guided us well to take care of field activities. Yes, it is a good course by which we can learn and work in a power plant. Career opportunities are also good as if you want to choose power plant stream, you can easily enhance your future by this course.
Other: Because I want to work in a power plant I have an interest in this stream.
