That means you can work on anything from artificial hearts to submarines, it’s all up to you. And you’ll definitely be getting your hands dirty (metaphorically, of course), because if you want to intern in engineering, you’ll have to be ready to work hard; only the astute will survive in this fascinating and high-tech industry. These positions aren’t without their perks, though, because of the long list of influential companies that an engineering intern can work with, many of the opportunities for students are paid.
