Q: Is North Eastern Regional Institute of Management a good college/Institute?

The North Eastern Regional Institute of Management was founded in Guwahati, Assam, in 1992. AICTE, NCTE, MHRD, & BCI have all given the North Eastern Regional Institute of Management their approval. For its numerous programmes, the Institution is affiliated with Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, and Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU).

Q: What is the selection criteria for the MBA programme at North Eastern Regional Institute of Management?

Candidates will be chosen in accordance with Dibrugarh University's established procedures. A 200-mark NERIM Entrance Test (NET) with sections on English Language, Reasoning, General Awareness, and Numerical Ability will be administered. In addition to the written test, there will be a 50-point Group Discussion and a 50-point Personal Interview. Candidates who have passed the NERIM Entrance Test (NET) with a valid MAT score of at least 500 or a minimum CAT percentile are not required to take the exam. However, for final selection, such candidates must show up for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI).

Q: What is the MAT cutoff for North Eastern Regional Institute of Management 2023?

Composite Score of 400 and above is considered a good MAT score. Most of the MBA colleges accepting MAT select students having MAT score in the range of 80 percentile to 99 percentile. A MAT percentile above 93 is considered ideal for admission into NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal and others.

MAT cut offs are fixed by participating institutes individually and vary from each other. The MAT cut off percentiles for MBA/PGDM admission at top colleges are usually between 80-95 percentile. The cut offs are used to shortlist candidates for the selection round which included Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Many good private B-Schools have MAT cut offs in the range of 70-80 percentile. MAT 2024 cut off for the participating colleges will be in the same range.

Q: How is the placement facility in North Eastern Regional Institute of Management?

The Institute has a dedicated Placement Cell which provides Placement Assistance to all the students enrolled in different programmes of the Institute. This includes placement after successfully completing their Masters's Programme and Concurrent field work after each semester. The Placement Officer acts as a catalyst in facilitating the process of interaction between the students and the prospective representatives of the concerned recruiting Houses. Both on-campus and off-campus interviews are arranged regularly. Several Multinationals and reputed National Firms belonging to different sectors have been regularly recruiting students from the NERIM Group of Institutions from time to time. Best law college in Guwahati.

Placements: Placement in our course was significant. You have to struggle by yourself to search for jobs like an international under a senior or typewriter in the civil courts. There were no recruiting companies in our course. Around 70% of students got an internship.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our course were satisfactory. Wi-Fi was properly maintained. A huge collection of books was available in the library. Hostel quality was also good. Food was acceptable. Limited medical facility. Some sports were present, like badminton.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. The way of teaching of our faculty members was quite good. Course curriculum was relevant. It helps students to get real-life problem-solving skills via internships and exploration. Semester exam was a little tough.

The overall placement support and opportunities provided by the college are not up to the mark and many students expect better industry connections. The college needs to bring more companies for recruitment drives and should focus on providing relevant job opportunities in the core fields of the courses offered. The placement process should be more structured and transparent so that students can prepare properly for interviews and tests.

Infrastructure: NERIM has good infrastructure with clean, air-conditioned classrooms, a decent library with many books, and computer labs with internet facilities. Wi-Fi is available in some areas. Hostel rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the mess food is average but manageable. The campus also has medical aid, a small gym, and sports facilities like basketball and badminton, allowing students to refresh during free time.

Faculty: Teachers at NERIM are friendly, qualified, and supportive, making it easy to clarify doubts. The teaching quality is good, and most teachers explain concepts with practical examples. Placements: In BBA, 30–40% of students are placed in organizations. In B.Com, 50% of students are placed, and in MBA, the placement rate is 65%. The highest package is 12 LPA, the average is 7.8 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like banking, information technology, retail, FMCG, insurance, and others. The top roles offered in the college are management positions, financial roles, marketing positions, technical roles, and legal positions.

Infrastructure: NERIM offers a comprehensive range of facilities and infrastructure. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and projectors, and it's fully environmental learning and In labs, there are 3 lines with a total of 500 computers, 24/7 Wi-Fi, and a 1:1 student-to-computer ratio. There are almost 30,000 books. There are 6 well-furnished hostels, separate for boys and girls, there are almost 300 students. The food quality is also good, and the mess has a dining table. For health purposes, there is an emergency hospital nearby. The college provides transport facilities. It mostly offers sports like badminton and carrom.

Faculty: All teachers are helpful, and most of them are well-qualified, there is no doubt about that. All teachers are very friendly, and they teach so well that we can understand easily. The curriculum at NERIM aligns with industry standards, and the main focus is to prepare students for the industry. No, it is not difficult to crack the semester exams. The passing mark is 30.

Infrastructure: Our college's (NERIM Group of Institutions) infrastructure is really good. They have a big computer lab with over 100 computers. They even allow students to use computers for making a project or any other work.

Faculty: The teacher or faculty members are so well-behaved, helpful, and good. They are always ready to help us whenever we need them. If we have any doubts regarding anything related to studies or college, we can reach them at any time. They also provide us with practical knowledge.
