Strong clinical exposure, supportive faculty & vibrant campus life, but Scope for better equipment.
Placements: I got approximately 7+ SGPA. I got a role as an AR, NCT examiner, refractionist, and many others, too. Top recruiting companies are Lenskart, Titan, JPG, and many others. In the optical industry, you can get a role as an optometrist as a retailer, or work with optometrists, and many other roles.
Infrastructure: Faculty are good, helpful, understanding, and of average qualified. They can make future optometrists well-educated. Semesters are not too hard if we study well. 70% students pass the exam in each semester, but some students are not able to pass.
Faculty: Average college interior, not too attractive, but looks overall good. Wi-Fi is also available, but the connection is not proper. Labs are clean and quite good, classrooms are good, but the AC is not working well. Library books are in poor condition, and there is a lack of books in the library.
Other: I chose this course because it perfectly aligns with both my passion and career goals. I have always been deeply interested in healthcare and how science can directly improve people lives. The best part is the hands-on clinical exposure, supportive faculty, and the well-structured curriculum that covers both core and specialty areas. However, more individualized clinical time and access to advanced equipment would enhance the experience. Campus life is vibrant with a friendly crowd, well-organized events, cultural fests, and extracurricular opportunities. The surroundings are peaceful, connectivity is good, and scholarships support deserving students, making it a well rounded educational journey.

College is good but the hostel facility is not good enough .
Placements: Placement is good but not the best. Companies come and take interviews for their requirements. Lens Kart, Titan Eye, and similar companies are also interested in this placement work. They have hired our seniors before. The percentage of students getting placed from the college is on average 60%. But it depends on the students of the batch. Also, the package is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, but the hostel is not. The hostel is moderate. There is no mess for food; you should go to the market and buy some food for yourself. The college provides medical facilities and has its own ambulance. The principal of the college also provides inspiration for sports and cultural functions.
Faculty: At first, the faculty members are very helpful and friendly. They always try to give you some knowledge about all things apart from studying. They are also very good and sufficient for teaching us. The HOD Ma'am is strict but not all the time. The exams are not very well-taught, but if you study and show interest in all your subjects, you will manage.
Other: My course is a medical-related course. I usually think about social service. In this course, I do that very simply. The campus is a very large area, but other people also live here.

College has improved from its past years. It has a good infrastructure, and knowledgeable faculty.
Placements: Firstly, let me say that it is such a course which will open an option to earn in every way. After completing the last one-year internship from any good eye hospital, you can either join that eye hospital or can join any optical company or can open your own clinic, start your own practice, own business of specs and contact lens. Nowadays, there is a huge demand for a good optometrist in the opticals. Earlier in our previous batches, it was tough to get placements from college. From our year, the college has improved, and they are providing better opportunities as well as with good packages. The salary in this sector for freshers in Kolkata is 14-17k and increases as per the designation or work profile. If you want to go abroad, the salary starts from 22-25k for freshers.
Infrastructure: As far as the infrastructure is concerned, our college has good and clean classrooms with A/C facilities, a good library, a lab, and a well-equipped clinic with minimum instruments to make you handy with basics, and rest you can learn in observership that the college conducts every year after even semester in eye hospitals. The last year will be an internship. To spend your leisure time, there is a common room where you will find different indoor games. The college even conducts football and cricket tournaments every year.
Faculty: The teaching quality is absolutely fine. Teachers are highly knowledgeable and guide in every aspect and every way. Earlier, the teachers in our stream were less in numbers, but from our time, many teachers have joined. The best part is maximum of them are Optometrist by profession.
Other: The college conducts an annual fest every year. The campus is near to highway connector.
