Overview

JENPAS UG Syllabus 2026 carries two papers- Paper I and Paper II. The JENPAS UG Paper I carries questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Basic English, and Health Aptitude. On the other hand, Paper II comprises Physical Science, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Basic English, and Logical Reasoning subjects. Candidates must prepare these subjects throughly based on the WBJEE-notified JENPAS UG syllabus.

JENPAS UG 2026 Syllabus by WBJEEB

As per the official notification of the WBJEE JENPAS UG 2026 exam, candidates need to prepare the following syllabus for Paper I and Paper II-

  • JENPAS UG Paper I Syllabus- Topics and syllabus will be based on Class 11 and 12 standard syllabi and curriculum of the recognised board/council of India.
  • JENPAS UG Paper II Syllabus- For Paper II, the content of physics, science, and mathematics will be based on the syllabi of class 10 standard of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and other equivalent recognised boards/councils of India. The content of General Knowledge, Basic English, and local reasoning will be equivalent to the 12 standard curriculum.

Q:   Is JENPAS UG an easy or difficult entrance exam?
A: 

JENPAS UG is an offline (Pen & Paper Mode) entrance exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). As per exam analysis conducted for previous year exams, it is a moderately difficult exam. A good preparation strategy will help candidates appear for exam without much difficulty. JENPAS UG is conducted for duration of 1.5 hours each for 2 papers (each carries 50 questions). Candidates need to answer Multiple Choice Questions and medium of exam is both in English and Bengali language.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in JENPAS UG exam?
A: 

No, there is no negative marking in JENPAS UG exam for category-II questions. In both paper I and paper II, there will be two categories of questions in the exam. The category-II questions will not attract any negative marking for the candidates. Salient features of category-II questions are: Candidates is free to choose one/more options. Not attempting the questions will lead to 0 marks. However, for Category I questions, - ¼ (25% negative) marks will be deducted for choosing incorrect options. 

Q:   Is JENPAS UG an online exam or offline exam?
A: 

JENPAS UG is an offline exam that carries Multiple Choice Questions (Objective-type), in which four options are provided in each question. The question paper is provided in both English and Bengali. Candidates are given 90 minutes to solve the paper. Each candidate gets 2 marks correct answer, and for each wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted.

Q:   Who can apply for JENPAS UG exam?
A: 

A candidate must be a citizen of India. The applicant must be domiciled in the state of West Bengal. The candidate must have passed or must be appearing for 10+2/class 12 in system only in 2026. The applicant's age must be 17 years as on 31.12.2026. The applicant should have been born on or before 31/12/2009. Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the BSc nursing course in both government colleges.

Q:   Can I get the JENPAS UG syllabus in Bengali?

The JENPAS UG syllabus is not made available in Bengali by the exam conducting body, WBJEE. Candidates can download the information brochure which is published on the official website,  wbjeeb.nic.in. Although the question paper will carry questions in both languages, English and Bengali. However, the detailed syllabus and topics will be provided in English medium only.  

Q:   Who prepares the syllabus of JENPAS UG exam?
A: 

The official exam conducting body, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), prepares and sets the syllabus of JENPAS UG entrance exam. The state-level entrance exam is conducted for screening candidates for admission to BSc-Nursing, BPT, BMLT, BSc-CCT, BSc-OTT, BSc-PT, BSc-PA, B.Sc. MMB, B.V.S.O, BHA courses.  The Paper-I (for all courses) will be based on 11th and 12th standard syllabi and curriculum of the recognised Board/Councils in India. However, the Paper-II (for BHA) will test candidates based on the content of Physical Science and Mathematics. The questions will be based on 10th standard syllabi of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and other equivalent and recognised Boards/Councils in India and the content of General Knowledge, Basic English and Logical reasoning will be equivalent to 12th standard curriculum.
