Placements: So basically we were in the B.A. Most of the time, there were no placements for them, whether you were in any college. Most of the students were there for competitive exams, so there were no placements. For B. Com and BCA, I think so for them as well. There were no placements.
Infrastructure: Labs were the best. We got every questionnaire with manuals and apparatus (even the Rorschach inkblot test). Psychology depth. Class was also very well maintained. ACs were working. The hostel was the best. I was in hostel 1, the food was good (2 sabjis, raita in the afternoon, milk every morning, and all).
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified as it was a government college. The curriculum was relevant to an extent, but not completely. You could not be dependent fully on them. Some work you had to do on your own. It was not too difficult. Teachers gave notes and resources, so it was well managed. But a little hustle was everywhere. So I was in the psychology department, and teachers were great, ready to help anytime.
Other: I wanted to do my Bachelor’s in Psychology Honors, and this college was best known for that time, so I chose this. Events were nice here, but the one drawback was that it was a girls’ college, so no singers had ever come here.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) - Batch of 2027
5.0
My college is a good place to learn, grow, and explore opportunities.
Placements: Around 70-80% of students from my batch are placed successfully. The highest package offered is around 10 LPA, the lowest package is close to 3 LPA, and the average package is around 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies include TCS and HCL. Many students got internships through college mostly in IT service company.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is well-equipped with spacious classrooms, Wi-Fi, computer, lab, and a library with good study material. Hostel facilities are decent with clean rooms and 24X7 security. It also provides proper water and electricity supply. The mess food is average but hygiene. The canteen offers a variety of snacks. Sports facilities like cricket, football, badminton, and indoor games are also available along with basic medical support on campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified, supportive, and explain concepts in a simple and practical way. The curriculum is updated and relevant, which helps students gain industry-required skills. Semester exam is moderately difficult but manageable with regular study. The pass percentage is quite high, and most students clear their exams successfully.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in the subject and good placement opportunities offered by the college. The best part about the course is the balance of theory and practical learning along with the supportive faculty members. The campus environment is lively with culture fest and a diverse student crowd. Connectivity to the campus is good. Scholarships are also provided for deserving students however, improvement can be made in hostel food quality, and more industry-focused workshops could be added.

It is worth it, academically oriented, and supports overall growth.
Placements: In our course, placement opportunities are just okay, not too great, but not disappointing. Around 20% of students get placed. Mainly those who have great technical or soft skills. The highest package goes up to 3 LPA. Internships are stipend-based.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure. Classrooms have fans, projectors, and Wi-Fi. There is a canteen, library, and common room. Hostels are good, and the messy food is okay and student-friendly. There are medical and sports facilities. Overall, it is good and worth it.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, experienced, and supportive. Some are strict, while others are easy-going and fun to learn with. The curriculum is more theory-based, which is good for competitive exams. Exams are doable if you attend classes and make proper notes. The passing percentage is around 80%.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in public administration, as it provides a strong base for higher exams. Teachers in my course are really experienced. I would like to see more improvement in practical exposure, such as internships and guest lectures. The campus crowd is mostly from hilly areas and is diverse. Connectivity is high during fests, and the campus vibe is more academically oriented. Scholarships are provided.

Postgraduate Government College for Girls.
Placements: Placement cells are there in the college, but they don't provide high-package placements, so I won't recommend this college to anyone seeking a college for high-package placements. Also, only a few small companies participate in these events and select about 3 to 5 students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is excellent; it's a really well-maintained campus with all the necessary facilities. Clean and comfortable spaces are available around campus, classrooms are spacious and equipped, and the library is well-stocked. Overall, the college has all the right facilities.
Faculty: Process of conducting exams is well-maintained. Exams are not really tough if you study throughout the semester. The faculty is great as well, well-spoken, and really helpful. The syllabus is not too vast and not too hard. Everything in the exam hall is arranged according to the needs.
Other: Overall, the college is great, but it won't be able to help you grow much individually.

My journey at a postgraduate government college for girls.
Placements: Placement at my college is not very good. Yes, they do have a placement cell, but it does not provide any high-package placements. Only a few small companies and institutions visit the college to hire students, with only around five students getting placed. I would not recommend this college if you are looking for high-package placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the best things about this college; it is very well maintained. The washrooms are large and clean, the canteen is very spacious, and the hostel provides facilities such as a library, gym, sports room, meditation room, and computer room. The hostel is good.
Faculty: The faculty here is excellent. They are all very educated and extremely experienced, with almost every member holding a Ph.D. degree. They focus on the syllabus and impart knowledge. They are gentle and very down to earth. Exams are held in an organized manner, and overall, the faculty is nice.
Other: Fests are organized throughout the year, but the main fest is held only once a year.

The college is good and worth it, as the faculty here is good compared to other colleges.
Placements: The college does not provide many placement options. As it offers mainly humanities subjects, the graduated students either opt for further studies like M.A., B.Ed. or prepare for the government exams. I did not come to know about any placement from the college till now.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The library of the college is really good, but the other facilities are not that good. The classrooms are equipped with broken benches, and lights and fans are also not working. The hostel facility is average. Each room has 2 beds, 2 study tables, 1 tubelight, and 1 ceiling fan. Coolers are not provided. Each room also has a balcony.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is good. They are easily approachable and help students at every step. Some professors give real-world knowledge along with bookish knowledge, but some professors are not on par with the student's needs. They just read the chapters from the book and mark those chapters done.
Other: I chose B.A. with honors in Economics because I have a keen interest in it, and the faculty of the economics department is really good. They further increased my interest in this subject. The college also holds various fests like GCG11 Fiesta and each department's fest, etc. Various other activities are done, like blood donation camps, which are organized annually in collaboration with PGI Chandigarh. The college has various clubs as well, like the Epiphany Club, Geography Club, Red Society, etc.

Satisfied because of good faculty and facilities.
Placements: Above 50% of students are placed in Bachelor of Arts. The college does offer placement to them, but B.A. students mostly don't take them. Most placements are offered to BCA students. The packages offered to them are mostly average but also depend on the qualifications of the students.
Infrastructure: The college has average infrastructure, typically that of a government college. The classrooms are big, with wooden benches, and have big windows providing good ventilation. The college has different departments, each with its own labs. The library is very big, with AC facilities, and offers study material related to each and every course offered. The quality of hostels is average, and the quality of food offered by the mess is eatable. The hostel rooms are mostly shared between two girls. The college has a dispensary within, which offers medical care to the girls. In case of emergencies, the girls can visit PGI or Government Hospital, Sector 16. The college offers various sports activities as well as NCC and NSS.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Overall, the teaching quality is above average. The students who have started college in 2024 have a new curriculum under NEP. This curriculum is quite relevant. It makes students ready for their future occupations and helps them deal with their stress. The semester exams are not very tough. The pass percentage is 80%. Students need to be prepared beforehand and have all their concepts clear.
Other: I am currently studying Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. The Psychology department of PGGCG-11 is very good and talked about in Chandigarh. Every department of the college organizes different events and extracurricular activities throughout the year. The Psychology department of PGGCG-11 is very interactive and active with their events.

Absolutely dissatisfied with placements; other than that, overall experience is good.
Placements: Placements are quite limited, and if they are there, they are not from reputable companies with low packages. A small number of students get internships. However, a few good students may get better opportunities if they do well in academics during their academic years.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite airy, but there is a lack of good lighting. Wi-Fi facility is not there. There are so many jammers, it is really difficult to use even your mobile data. Food in the canteen is decent, not that much good. There is a quite big sports ground for sports purposes.
Faculty: Faculty of the college is really nice; they support in academics as well as in extracurricular activities. The semester exams are not that difficult. One can score decent marks if he/she has attended classes properly. Overall pass percentage is decent.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to go further in this field. I have learned a lot and observed holistic development in my own thoughts. There are many useful events in the college, and there is scope for scholarships for the students.
