Students get selected for the MBBS program at Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) based on their scores in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. To be eligible, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. The minimum cutoff score for admission varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant. For example, in Jharkhand, the minimum mark required to get admission in RIMS Ranchi in the MBBS course is 623 marks for the General category, 480 marks for SC category students, and 375 marks for ST category students. At RMCH, the annual intake into the MBBS course is 150 seats, and the selection is primarily based on NEET scores. 85% of candidates are selected through the state-level examination (JCECE), and 15% are selected through NEET.
