B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Core Computer Science) - Batch of 2028
4.4
Great infrastructure and facilities to build your future.
Placements: I have completed 2 years of my college out of 4. Currently, in my batch, almost all students have been placed in multiple startups and PSUs for internships under the SAMARTH Placement Programme of my college. My specialization is Data Science, so the top roles offered are Data Scientist and Data Analyst. Since we have completed only 2 years, almost all the internships are unpaid.
Infrastructure: We have college Wi-Fi available all over the campus 24/7. We have high-quality facilities like a library, Physics lab, Computer labs, and high-tech classrooms with projectors. Also, amphitheater-style classrooms and lecture halls. We also have a very big football and cricket ground, multiple badminton courts, volleyball courts, and basketball courts, all well-maintained. Hostels are very average.
Faculty: All faculty members are very helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is highly aligned with the current industry demand. Semester exams are moderately tough. To pass a course, we must obtain at least 35 marks out of 100, along with at least 75 percent attendance in the course.
Other: The course duration is very short. We only get about 3 months with faculty in a semester. The rest of the time, we are in internships or giving exams. It could be better if we got more time to learn.

Great college and satisfactory investment for our future.
Placements: Almost 60-70 percent of students got placed this year and opportunities provided to students are quite good. The highest package offered is impressive and many reputed companies like Deloitte and others visited the campus for recruitment. Their Career Service Department plays a great role in your internships.
Infrastructure: It has an excellent infrastructure with modern classrooms and each having projector, fully equipped labs, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a well-maintained centralised library in which you can access PyQ and they also provide soft copies of the books available. The quality of food court is unmatchable so hygienic and tasty. Sport facilities are also available.
Faculty: They are helpful, qualified, and so supportive. Most professionals have a good academic background as well as industry knowledge. Various workshops, seminars, and industry interactions help students become industry-ready and they are not just our professors but our mentors.

It's quite a good college, overall, the infrastructure and all are good, and the placement is decent
Placements: There are many roles offered, like a manager, HR and tech-related roles with more goals. The average package is around 6 LPA, and each placement was given according to the efficient and deserving candidates, and all were aligned with their job roles only, they all were given fair chances.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the whole campus is quite satisfactory. The campus view is great. Hostels are spacious and a great place to live for the tenure. There are many food stalls related to it, night mess hostel shops are also provided for late-night snacks, so overall, no issue.
Faculty: The curriculum changes according to the time and is being updated regarding the needs of the real-life market, and valuable skills are encouraged accordingly. Teachers are teaching those skills that are necessary and quite helpful for our field and all.

Good campus life, great extracurriculars.
Placements: CRED was a top recruiter for the passing out batch with the highest CTC of 42 LPA. Cisco, Samsung, Deloitte and many others provided internship opportunities to third-year students. 800+ on-campus recruiters. The highest CTC for the 2024-25 batch was 52 LPA. Top 10% average CTC - 17.4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Good Wi-fi with great connectivity and speed. Classrooms are good, spacious, and well-equipped. The library has a huge variety of books and great infrastructure. Great, beautiful campus in Mussorie Foothills. Medical facilities are available on campus. Great sports opportunities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is highly relevant in terms of both theory and lab courses and makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are just difficult enough to test students' real knowledge, but not so tough that achieving good grades becomes a myth, with a pass percentage of 35%. The grades are a healthy mix of mid sem (20%), end sem (30%) and internal marks (50%).
Other: Incredible research opportunities, a good, inclusive campus crowd, a plethora of extracurriculars.

Good infrastructure and facilities. Some faculty members are awesome.
Placements: A good number of students got placed. Top recruiting companies for the course include IBM, etc. Roles offered include cybersecurity, coding, web development, and startups. The college has placements in top companies. Student academic and extracurricular activities skills help more in getting placed at a top recruiting company.
Infrastructure: Many facilities are available at the college. The college has a very beautiful infrastructure and campus. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms with projectors, a library, and many more facilities are available. The quality of the facilities is good. The quality of food is great. Many franchise food brands are available at the college, for example, Domino's. Medical and sports facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good, except for a few faculty members. The course curriculum is relevant and effectively prepares students for industry readiness. They also have mindfulness as a subject and more extracurricular activities. The specialisation courses include AI, ML, Cybersecurity, and other specialisations. The semester exams are a little bit difficult, but not much.
Other: I chose this course because of my personal interest in computer science. The best thing about the course is that it covers the application of computers. Events are grandly held in the college. The college is a bit overcrowded. The campus surroundings are awesome, and extracurricular activities are great.

A place where you can study with fresh and clean air.
Placements: A good number of students had been placed in our course. UPES has a good placement record. 52 LPA in CRED. Companies like Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, etc., recruit. A high percentage of students secure the internship, and there is also full-time recruitment.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good. In our hostel, we have a mess, common room that consists of games like table tennis and pool. In food also a lot of variety. In our course, we are provided with labs like Physics lab, for each experiments their is separate lab. Wi-Fi is 24/7 available in both the college and hostel. Classrooms are good. The library is also good, it consist so many books, a charging port for laptops or phones, and there are so many books available for each topic.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and qualified. They also collab in writing a research paper like things. Teaching quality is good for some teachers and not for others. Partially correct and partially wrong. Some topics made student industry ready, like Python, DSA, etc. Difficult level is good, like we have to understand the topic to solve the exam. 35/100 is the passing criteria.

UPES - A good investment only if you're smart and proactive.
Placements: So, like, there are 3 categories in the 3rd year, and you give an exam for placement. The highest one is alpha, they get placement 100%, beta guys are like 7-9 CGPA, they get max to max 7-20 LPA packages, and gamma ones are like below average students, so placement depends on their personal skills.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not good in college, but in the hostel it's good. The classroom is there. The library standard is that I get all the resources, and good books are there. I have Microsoft 365 Premium, and as you do research, the GPU is assigned. Food, I would say 7/10, it's edible and clean, but not spicy. Non-veg is provided 3 days a week. A pool, table tennis, and badminton court are inside the hostel, and as we live in a college hostel, the playgrounds are open till 10:30 for us.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, it's like how much work can you get out of them? The course curriculum is excellent and makes students industry-ready. You learn a lot. Semester exams are like, the odd semester is easy, and the even semester is hard. For CSE, you are taught AIML in the first semester, so you will learn to train models, then you go into your domain and expand. Semester exams, Maths is difficult for me, and the rest is very much of your own practice. Minimum 6 CGPA per subject and an overall 6.5 CGPA needed to pass. Teachers are decent.
Other: The MUN club is the best. I am a part of it, it has great public speaking skills and I have developed great communication skills. Chapters and extracurricular activities are there every month. There are at least 4-5 events going on.

Career prospects are strong, though classrooms can feel average.
Placements: UPES has excellent placement opportunities, especially in CSE. Around 90-95% students are placed with the highest package going above 50 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. Opportunities are there, but for top performers. Core roles are limited, and many companies offer mass recruitment profiles.
Infrastructure: UPES has one of the best infrastructures among private universities in India, but classrooms should have AC. Hostel and cafeteria are decent, the view from hostel is epic. Wi-Fi-enabled labs are advanced, well-stocked libraries. Sometimes you feel crowded in hostel.
Faculty: Most faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. The curriculum is industry-oriented, updated regularly and includes emerging areas, AIML, data science and cloud computing. UPES also encourage projects and certification. Exams are manageable if you keep up with lectures.
Other: The crowd in UPES is diverse, with students from all over India. You get good exposure to various cultures, and most students are friendly and energetic. Overall, you will easily find your group.
