Bharathiar University Distance Education admission is merit-based. Also known as BU-SDE, the distance education university is under the Bharathiar University. Students are offered various courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels across various specialisations. 1: Click on the "Admission" button shown on the homepage of the School of Distance Education.

2: Read the instructions and click on the undertaking to proceed. It is important that the students make their ABC ID (a detailed video for creating the ID can be found on the university's official website).

3: Select the programme and year and fill out the application form.

4: Provide the required details, such as name, Aadhar card number, parents' name, etc.

5: Pay the application fee to complete the application.

Candidates can also obtain the application form via post by enclosing a DD in favour of “The Director, SDE, Bharathiar University” payable at “Coimbatore” for Rs 200 along with a self-addressed envelope of size 30*24 cm. This needs to be sent to the following address:

List of documents required

• Attested photocopies of certificates of the qualifying examinations
• A recent passport-size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) photograph pasted on the first page of the application form
• An equivalent certificate obtained from the AIU, if the candidate has graduated from a foreign institution/ university
• Address proof, authentication letter from the embassy to this university and an attested copy of passport – for foreign students
• Service (working)/ bonafide certificate to avail concession for press, media, police, defence, RAF, CRPF & teacher candidates
