Bharathiar University Distance Education admission is merit-based. Also known as BU-SDE, the distance education university is under the Bharathiar University. Students are offered various courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels across various specialisations. These programmes are provided across various streams, such as Management, Accounting & Commerce, Science, Arts, and Social Work, via distance mode. 1: Press the "Admission" button shown on the homepage of the School of Distance Education.

2: Read the instructions & click on the undertaking to proceed. It is important that the students make their ABC ID (a detailed video for creating the ID can be found on the university's official site).

3: Select the programme/course & yr & fill out the application form.

4: Provide the required details, like name, Aadhar card no., parents' name, etc.

5: Pay the application fee to complete the application.

Students can also obtain the application form via post by enclosing a DD in favour of “The Director, SDE, Bharathiar University” payable at “Coimbatore” for Rs 200 along with a self-addressed envelope of size 30*24 cm. This needs to be sent to the following address:

List of documents required

• Attested photocopies of certificates of the qualifying examinations
• A recent passport-size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) photograph pasted on the first page of the application form
• An equivalent certificate obtained from the AIU, if the candidate has graduated from a foreign institution/ university
• Address proof, authentication letter from the embassy to this university & an attested copy of passport – for foreign students
• Service (working)/ bonafide certificate to avail concession for press, media, police, defence, RAF, CRPF & teacher students
