Q:   How can I get admission in Shivaji College?
A:

In 2025, Shivaji College (like all DU affiliated colleges) adopted CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses. Shivaji College admission 2025 for UG courses (as per DU) is through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit Shivaji College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here student must select their preferred course and college as the option.

Step 3: The releases three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the Shivaji College verifies the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

Step 5: Once Shivaji College accords the approval, candidates to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.

Q:   How is CUET UG cut off calculated?
3thumbs up
A:

The CUET UG cut off is determined by CUET participating universities seperately. Parameters on the basis of which CUET UG cut off is released are:

  • Total number of candidates that appeared for the CUET UG exam
  • The number of seats offered by the participating universities through CUET UG
  • The difficulty level of the CUET exam
  • Overall performance of the test takers (pass percentage/ score range, etc.)

CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:

100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.

For B.Sc. students placement is very low as such no core company visit in the college and students are not that much interested in other companies.

One of the best off-campus colleges especially for the Science stream.
Placements: There are a few placements that I'm aware of. The placement drive happens through the society called the Placement and Internship Cell. Many well-known companies participated in it and the students were well prepared for it. For my course specifically there are very few opportunities but for B.Com, etc., there are lots of opportunities.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped. Infrastructure is also good. I think this is one of the best off-campus colleges. There are no hostels. The library is good with different sections for everybody. Computers are there. AC is there. Food is cheap in the canteen. Overall everything is Excellent. The printing shop is there too. Bru is also there. Epicuria is near the college where students go to relax.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable. Teaching quality is above expectations. There are lots of competitions and webinars happening. Alumni also interact regularly and guide us. Lots of courses are started too which make us ready for the outside world and provide practical knowledge. Teachers are well educated, too.
Other: The campus crowd could be better and there is not much connectivity. The campus surroundings are not safe for girls especially the Pink Line metro side. They take us out for field trips too.

Good exposure to social life and a decent environment to study.
Placements: I'm enrolled in B.Sc. (hons) Chemistry and there are 26 students in my class. The package may vary from 3 LPA to 10 LPA in my course. Indian and foreign companies recruit students. Students can get internships depending on their academic performance in emerging companies as well as well-established ones. The top roles offered in my course are lab technician, scientist, forensic scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: The labs are very efficient, the classrooms are decent, and the library is good. Our college doesn't provide hostel services but the canteen has good medical facilities. They have a dispensary attached to the college itself and sports are also good. They almost got all the sports equipment to play.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well-qualified. The quality of teaching is decent, they teach very well, and you can ask doubts anytime. The curriculum lacks in making the student industry-ready as it should be helpful to give industry exposure through field visits. Semester exams are decent it requires 40 percent to pass.
Other: I chose this course because it was my interest. The best thing about the course is the lab experiments. It would be better if the staff were more friendly. Events and fests are very great.

My college on a review of relevance.
Placements: There are good placement opportunities in the college and the placement society also help a great deal in finding worthy internships. The package is around 5 LPA on average, but the highest package has gone as high as 13 LPA. Companies like Upscale and Scale also provide many placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The structure of the college is very admirable, and it's divided into two parts: one being the sports complex and the other being the main teaching campus. The facility is like a family to me, and the teaching quality is top notch. With some real-life experience with courses like VAC and SEC.
Faculty: The curriculum is of standard level, and the DU is also known all over India for its teaching quality. Real-life experiences are valued over bookish knowledge, and the teachers are also very supportive. Their teaching methods are innovative. Learning here is easy and good.

A great college with good faculty, decent placements, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Shivaji College has a well-established placement cell that actively works to provide career opportunities to the students. In recent years, at least 60–70 percent of students who register for placements get successfully placed in different companies and institutions.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure for students of different courses. It provides a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, fully ventilated classrooms, projectors for smart learning, high-end computers in labs, etc. The library is well stocked with a variety of books, which allows students to prepare for different exams.
Faculty: The faculty members of Shivaji College are well-qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable in their respective subjects. Most of the teachers are supportive, cooperative, and help students with doubts, assignments, and career guidance. The teaching quality is very good.

It is a solid choice for affordable geography studies.
Placements: Placements for my course B.A. Geography Hons are modest, with around 60 percent of students placed. The highest is INR 24 LPA, average INR 6 LPA, and the lowest INR 4 LPA. Companies like Google, Accenture, Deloitte, and Amazon recruit for roles in GIS analysis, urban planning, and data mapping.
Infrastructure: Shivaji College has modern labs for every course, like GIS labs for Geography Hons, projectors in classrooms, free Wi-Fi on campus, and a digital library. The college doesn't have an on-campus hostel, but the PGs nearby are decent enough. The food in the canteen is varied but affordable. The sports ground is excellent.
Faculty: Shivaji College has a solid, qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive faculty, and an up-to-date relevant curriculum under DU's NEP. Exams can be challenging with moderate pass rates. Semester exams require 40 percent marks minimum and are moderately difficult. Backlogs are allowed without expulsion.

Good faculty members and an even better campus.
Placements: Placement opportunities are great, and there are some top-notch companies too like Upscale etc. The package is also decent considering the graduation level of the degree, maximum going up to 15 LPA and average being up to 5 LPA. The roles offered are also decent, like management roles etc.
Infrastructure: The college is divided into two parts, the sports complex and the college. The sports complex is a big open field which offers many playing opportunities like cricket, volleyball, tennis, chess, etc. The Mango College campus offers the biggest library in the whole DU, and the faculty is also very good.
Faculty: The faculty is very good. The curriculum offered by DU is reputed all over India, and the learning environment and experience are also on a standardized level. The curriculum offers various skill development courses and value development courses, which help in a person's real-life requirements.

Q:   What will happen if someone misses the internal exam in Shivaji College?
A:
Nothing happens, if you have some medical reasons then you can submit the medical. I have seen that internal exams are taken 2-3 times because of missing students. Teachers should be provided the reason for absence in the exam and they would arrange another day for internals and sometimes teachers gives the option of giving internal exams if students scores less (to help the students in improving their internal marks). But if you know that you haven't scored well then you'll have to score good in semester exam so that you'll get good marks and won't fail.
