CUET UG 2022 application correction window was reopened by NTA ahead of the result, on September 13. The last date to make changes in the particulars was September 15, 10 am. In an official notification dated September 13, NTA has stated, "Some candidates have approached NTA requesting to allow them for correction in the particulars filled during online Application Form of CUET (UG) – 2022. In order to support them, it has been decided to provide another opportunity to make corrections in the particulars of their respective Application Forms of CUET (UG) – 2022." The CUET UG 2022 result is expected to be declared on September 15. The particulars in which changes or corrections can be made are as follows:

  • Any one field - Candidates' name, or mother's name or father's name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Category
  • PWBD
  • Choice of Universities

CUET UG 2022 application process and correction window were reopened on June 23, 9 am. The last date to register, complete the application process by paying the application fee and make corrections was June 26, 11.50 am. Applicants who were not in possession of their actual Category Certificate to change their category in the application form could also upload an Undertaking as per the format enclosed, through the CUET 2022 Correction Window.  Earlier, the application and correction window was reopened from May 27 to May 31. The CUET 2022 (CUCET) application correction window was opened by NTA on May 25. Only those candidates who completed the application process by paying the requisite application fee were eligible to make corrections or modifications to the CUET 2022 application form. The application window was originally open from April 6 to May 22. The CUET application form 2022 was completely online. Aspirants had to visit the link given on this page and register with their basic information. Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria could complete the CUET 2022 application process.

As many as 9,50,804 candidates have applied for CUET 2022 (erstwhile CUCET). The exam is being conducted between a window of 10 days and two slots between July 15 and August 10. According to NTA, one candidate has applied to more than five Universities, on average, and there are more than 54,000 unique combinations of subjects chosen by various candidates. The total number of participating institutes is 86, out of which there are 43 Central Universities, 13 State Universities, 12 Deemed Universities and 18 Private Universities.

CUET or Central University Entrance Test was known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) till last year. This year, the exam has been renamed by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Last year, a total of 1,34,722 candidates had registered for the exam out of which 97,416 candidates had appeared for the test. The application fee had to be paid in online mode only. How to Make CUET 2022 Application Correction

Candidates had to follow the steps given below to make changes in the CUET 2022 application form:

  • Visit the official website of CUET 2022 – cuet.samarth.ac.in or directly enter the link - https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/index.php/site/login

  • Click on the ‘Sign In’ tab on top right side of the page

  • Enter your application number, password and security pin

  • Click on the tab indicating application correction

  • Enter the OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email address

  • Make the necessary changes

  • Verify the details before final submission

CUET 2022 Application Correction - Editable Fields 

Candidates were able to make changes in any one of the following fields of the CUET 2022 application form:

  • Candidate Name or

  • Father Name or

  • Mother Name or

  • Photograph - Image Upload or

  • Signature – Image Upload

Candidates were able to make changes in all the fields listed below:

  • Date of birth

  • Gender

  • Category

  • PwBD

  • Class 10 or equivalent details

  • Class 12 or equivalent details

  • Exam centre city selection (all four preferences)

  • Medium of question paper

  • Subject/Test Paper Code

  • University and Programme selection

CUET 2022 Application Correction - Uneditable Fields 

Following are the fields that could not be edited by the candidates:

  • Mobile number

  • Email address

  • Permanent and correspondence address

In case of a change of category, the fee was changed accordingly. The correction was applicable only after payment of an additional fee if any.

CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have met the eligibility criteria set by the Central Universities in order to apply and appear for CUET 2022. The eligibility parameters are as follows:

Students should have passed Class 12 from a recognised board in Science stream to take admission in bachelor’s degree programmes in the Central Universities. For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50 per cent in Class 12, for SC/ST, candidates need to have secured a minimum of 45 per cent in Class 12 in order to be eligible for the CUET 2022. For BTech programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45 per cent and that of the reserved category candidates is 40 per cent.

Things to keep in mind while filling CUET Application Form 2022

Students planning to appear for CUET should note the below points:

  • Candidates could apply to a maximum of three participating central universities only. To apply to more than three universities, candidates need to pay the application fee again.
  • The application form of a candidate will not be accepted by exam authorities till the CUET test fee is paid successfully.
  • An email and SMS was sent to candidates’ registered email ID and phone number on successful CUET online application form submission and fee payment.

How to fill CUET Application Form 2022

Candidates seeking admission could apply for CUET via online mode on the official website of the exam as per the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Registration

The first step was to register for the CUET 2022 by visiting the official website of the exam, which was https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/ or directly enter - https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/index.php/app/registration/form. After this, they needed to click on the 'New Registration' tab and read the instructions carefully before proceeding. In the next step, they had to fill the registration form with their personal, contact details and address and choose a password and security question. Upon entering the security pin, their registration process was complete. Candidates received the username and password on their registered email and SMS. 

Step 2: Fill CUET Application Form

Details that candidates needed to fill in the CUET application form are as follows:

  • Personal details: This section required candidates to enter information like their name, email ID, phone number, and date of birth. Candidates also had to choose a password for themselves at this stage. Thereafter, candidates needed to click on the “Save & Proceed” button following which other sections will appear on the screen.
  • Qualifying exam details: In this section, candidates needed to enter their qualifying exam details such as the name of board/college, passing year, marks obtained, and percentage scored.
  • Address for correspondence: Here, candidates had to enter their address that will be used for any communication regarding the exam.
  • Exam centre: Next, candidates had to choose four examination city choices in preferential order in which they wish to appear for the exam.
  • Declaration: Candidates had to click on the checkbox in the declaration box and click, “Save & Proceed”. They were redirected to the next stage of the application process.

Step 3: Upload Photograph and Signature

At this stage, candidates had to upload their scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications. The following table brings the details of the documents to be uploaded.

Step 4: Select Courses and Universities

Here, candidates first needed to select any three universities to which they wish to secure admission. Thereafter, candidates had to select any three courses in each university to which they wished to apply. Once selected, candidates had to click on the “Save & Proceed” button.

On clicking the button, the preview of the application form opened on the screen. At this stage, candidates could edit the form by clicking on the “Edit Application” button if they wished to change any information provided in the application. Else, candidates could click on the “Submit & Make Payment” button present on the page.

Step 5: Pay CUET Application Fee

Candidates had to pay the CUET 2022 application fee online (net banking/ credit card/ debit card/ UPI/ Wallet). It may be noted that candidates’ application fee status (paid/ not paid) would appear on the form.

Selection of CUET 2022 Test Centre

At the time of filling CUET application form, candidates had to select four exam cities in order of preference in which they wish to appear for the test. Candidates must select the CUET exam cities wisely. Candidates had to select the cities which are located nearest to their hometown or where they can make easy accommodation arrangements.

It may be noted that the change of test centre city will not be permitted once the centre is allotted.

Efforts will be made by exam authorities to allot an exam centre to candidates in their preferred city. However, the official website of the exam informs that in case less than 100 candidates register for a particular centre, it will be cancelled and aspirants will be required to appear at another nearby centre allotted to them.

FAQs Regarding CUET 2022 Application   

Q: Can I make any changes or corrections to the CUET application form after submitting it?

A: NTA opened the application correction window for CUET on June 23, wherein candidates were able to make the necessary corrections or changes till June 26, 11.50 pm. Ahead of the results, NTA reopened the application correction window on September 13 and the last date to make changes in the selected fields is September 15, 10 am. 

Q. Is there any fee required for making CUET 2022 application correction?

A. There was no specific fee levied for making CUET 2022 application correction. However, in case of changing category, the application fee would be revised and candidates had to pay the excess fee as applicable. 

Q: How much is the CUET exam fee? Is it different if I apply for more courses or universities?

A: CUET exam fee was INR 650 for General, INR 600 for OBC-NCL and EWS category candidates and INR 550 for SC, ST, PwD Third Gender candidates. Those who want to opt for a centre located outside India had to pay INR 3,000. For CUET PG 2022, the application fee for General candidates was INR 800, Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL was INR 600, SC/ST/Thirdgender was INR 550 and that for PwD was INR 500.

Q: How will I know that my application has reached the exam authorities?  

A: On successful submission of the CUET online application form along with the exam fee, an automated email and SMS were sent on the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates. 

Q: Can I fill the application form offline?

A: No, CUET application forms had to be filled in online mode on the official website of the exam only.

Q: What can I do if I face difficulty in filling the online application form or if do not receive automated email and SMS?

A: In case candidates faced any difficulty in filling the application form or did not receive the automated response on email and SMS within 24 hours of submitting the form, they should contact exam authorities through email and call.  It may be noted that at the time of contacting exam authorities, candidates should have been ready with the following information: registration number, email ID, mobile number, operating system Windows XP SP2 or Linux (with Version number), browser with its version number, whether javascript is enabled, and copy of Exact Text of error message encountered.

Q: Is it mandatory to fill the CUET application form in one go?

A: No, candidates could fill the CUET application form partially and then log in again to complete it later.

Q. Can I fill and submit the application form on the day it is released?

A. Yes. Candidates could fill the form from the first day of release till the last day of submission. Candidates would not be able to apply once the application process is over.

Q. Does the passport-sized photograph have to be coloured or black and white?

A. Candidates were advised to upload a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph which should be either coloured or black and white. The photograph should be in white background and 80 per cent face (without mask) should be visible.

Q: Do I have to pay any fee for availing of the CUET application correction facility?

A: No, there was no fee required for the CUET application correction process, unless there was a change in the candidate category which impacted in the change of fee. 

Q: While filling the CUET 2022 application form, the session expired. What should I do?

A: Candidates filling the CUET 2022 application form had to submit it within 30 minutes of logging into the registered account. Also, they should have kept saving each section of the application form to avoid filling it again if the session expires. To ensure completing the form in under 30 minutes, applicants must keep all the information handy.

Q. Is the application fee for CUET supposed to be paid before filling the application form or after it?

A.  On submission of online application successfully, applicants can make the online payment for their selected programme. Meaning, the application fee needs to be paid after submitting the application form.

Q. How many options can an applicant fill for the programmes in the application form of CUET?

A. An applicant could choose a maximum of three programmes for the Common Entrance Test.

Q. What are the major reasons which can lead to the cancellation of the candidature of an application?

A. The major reasons that can result in the cancellation of a candidate's candidature are: if the minimum eligibility requirement is not fulfilled or false documentation has been done or facts have been suppressed.

Knowing the exam pattern will help you understand the important topics, subject-wise weightage of questions, type of questions, and marking scheme for the exam. To ensure that you cover the entire syllabus efficiently it is important to devise a proper study plan. Also, the study plan should have a proper schedule so that you get ample rest as well. While preparing your study plan and timetable, consider the following:
Dedicate more time to understanding the difficult concepts. Assign time to practice Mock Tests, Previous Year Papers, or Sample Papers. Apart from preparing new topics, spare some time for revision each day. Figure out the times of the day when you can focus the most. Assign this time to study new and important topics.
