The students pursuing a course from the institute are open to scholarships provided by the West Bengal Government. West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation provides Post-Matric Scholarships and Merit-cum-Means Scholarships. Scholarships will be provided to eligible students in order of merit and subject to the budgetary allocation provided by the State Government. For renewal, the applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she has obtained 50% aggregate in his/ her previous examination.

The admission process for SIT is a multi-step process, including application, course-specific selection rounds, etc. 

1. Application: Candidates can submit their applications online in the form of admission query. The admission team gets back to you with all the details.
2. Selection rounds: The selection is based on entrance exam score for some courses like BTech, MBA, etc. For rest of the courses, merit in the last qualifying exam is considered for admission. The institute might conduct PI round for a few courses. 
3. Merit List & Counselling: The institute releases a merit list with the names of the shortlisted candidates. SIT conducts counselling or accepts admission through entrance exam counselling. Aspirants need to confirm their admission by paying the course fee.

SIT offers eight courses at UG and PG levels, including BBA, BCA, MBA, etc. The courses are offered through five colleges/ departments, namely College of Engineering & Management, College of Professional Studies, College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, College of Computer Application and SIT Diploma College. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses. Graduation is necessary to apply for any of the PG course available at SIT Siliguri.
