Unfortunately, getting into School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University with an 86 percentile in JEE Mains is unlikely, especially for the B.Tech. Petroleum Engineering program. The minimum percentile required generally falls within the 95-99 range, depending on your category and seat type. However, there might be a chance for the B.Tech. Petrochemical Engineering program, where the cut-off may be slightly lower.

SoET PDEU admission to BTech is based on entrance exam score.  Candidates can apply for BTech through JEE Main score. Admission to BTech is offered on All India and Government seats (ACPC Quota). Candidates can take admission in BTech Biotechnology through GUJCET score. Once selected, candidates are offered a seat in the university. 67% seats are offered under All India Quota and 33% of seats are offered under ACPC Quota. The duration of JEE Main exam is 3 hours or 180 minutes. Candidates who fall under PwD category are given 4 hours to complete the exam as they are provided 20 minute extra for every one hour. Students who opts to appear in Paper 2A (BArch) and Paper 2B (BPlan) both will be provided 3.5 hours. 

JEE Mains exam is held in morning and evening session. The timing of morning session is 9 am to 12 noon and for evening session the timing is 3 pm to 6 pm. Each day exam is held in two session. 

The NTA had announced the JEE Main 2025 application form dates for Session 2. The application form for Session 2 was released on February 1, 2025, and the last date to apply was February 25, 2025. Interested candidates had to fill out the JEE Main Session 2 form online at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Session 1 registration took place from October 28 to November 22, 2024.

Admission to B.Tech at School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (SPT-PDPU) is based on JEE Main scores and subsequent rounds of counseling. The fee for various courses at School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is as follows: BE in Information Technology and Management, 4 years, full-time, Rs. 2 Lakhs; BE in Petroleum Engineering, 4 years, full-time, Rs. 2 Lakhs; BE in Industrial . Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) offers various scholarships for B.Tech. programs, including Merit Scholarship in the form of full tuition fee waiver (w.e.f. first semester) to the students. Students who take admission as per the following bank of JEE Main and ACPC rank for various courses will get a full tuition fees waiver. The university also offers some special merit scholarships to students of BTech. Students get admission either through All-India seats or ACPC seats. The tuition waiver of 25% will be offered to students who take admission in BTech Civil/ Electrical/ Petroleum Engineering in the batch of 2023-27. The scholarship will remain continue to the final semester of course for students passing with a minimum of 6.5 CPI in Semester-1 onwards. PDEU also offers a Merit cum Means Scholarship for B.Tech. students securing admission in the academic year 2016-17, with effect from their third semester. The scholarship is based on the Merit cum Means, and the basic eligibility criteria may be the Total Annual Income (from all Sources) of the student’s family should not be exceeding Rs. 6.00 Lacs. Students seeking such scholarships will have to apply after their 1st Year’s results in a Prescribed Form wherein authentic information about the family income and other relevant information shall be furnished. The merit list may be based on any one of the following as to be decided by the University: 1st year results, Combination of JEE score (40%) and 1st year results (60%). The scholarship will be 50% of the total Tuition Fees from the 2nd Academic Year. The Scholarship Committee, keeping in view relative merits, will decide award of scholarships to top SEVEN (7) meritorious students in each branch of B.Tech.
