Based in Kottayam, St. Joseph College of Communication (popularly known as SJCC) is a Christian minority self-financing education institution which is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. Also, it has been recognized as the first university which was affiliated to Media College in South India. Founded in 2004, it was formally inaugurated by Sri Oommen Chandy (the then Chief Minister of Kerala) in 2005.
