Overview of Swami Shradhanand College, Alipur, Delhi.
Placements: It is not a technical institute. A large number of students pursue distance courses like Bachelor of Arts and other honours courses. There are no such placements, but students who want to pursue careers in the arts field can take admission, it's a very good college for them.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are very normal, not so eye-catching. The campus is very big. There are 2 buildings, one is old, and one is new. The new building is for regular students, and the old one is for conducting exams for distance learning students. Overall, the college is good.
Faculty: The faculty and curriculum is reviewed and revised every year. So it is very good for the students. The course is relevant, and it makes students ready for many government exams, mostly in polity and history. The exams for open learning students are held every year, and for students with regular admission, the exams are conducted semester-wise.
Other: If you want to pursue distance courses and you are from North West Delhi, the best college and study centre for you.

Good experience for me as it makes me more confident and helps in cultural exploration of my skills.
Placements: The college did not really get students placements, especially in Life Sciences. Most students chose higher studies and went to universities like IIT. The college also had a placement cell, but there were no such great placement opportunities provided to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was basic. There was Wi-Fi in the college, but it did not work properly sometimes. Specific rooms like computer labs and some other labs had Wi-Fi connections, but it was not already provided to students. There was no awareness about these facilities, as many students did not know that the college had Wi-Fi. Some students who knew about it could use the Wi-Fi with the password from the lab assistant.
Faculty: Speaking the truth, teachers were helpful. If we asked them for guidance about the future, they came up with new ideas and provided information about competitive exams we could prepare while studying B.Sc. Life Sciences. This was a course where we could study many subjects, which made it different from other courses. However, talking about making students ready for industry experience, I would say no.
Other: I chose this course because I liked Science and had already decided in my 10th class to opt for this course. It made career options more diverse, as we could choose different fields from this course. Talking about improvements, I wished the college could improve sports activities. Some subjects were still part of the course, but they did not actually help us learn particular skills. It was more about practical files and exams rather than real learning.

The college is good with basic facilities and a sports ground.
Placements: There is no placement scheme provided by the college. There is no package offered by the college. There are no recruiters. The college does not provide internships. Students can get jobs in lab companies and join as technical staff or lab assistants.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average compared to most campuses of Delhi University, as it is in an off-campus area. The college has Wi-Fi for students. Classrooms are also good, but not all classrooms are well-maintained. A canteen is available for students. There is a playground for games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, friendly, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. The curriculum is good. It provides both education and practical knowledge about lab equipment. Questions are not very tough from previous year papers, but students still need to focus.
Other: I was interested in microorganisms in our environment and how small cells live independently in nature. The college provides internships and practical knowledge. Fests are conducted in March and April. Scholarships are also available.

This college is not recommended.
Placements: 10–15% of students get placed from the college society, Ascend. The highest package is 4 LPA, and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Success, Marine Prince Concept, and Oberoi. Around 2% of students get internships. Most of them get it on their own rather than through the college. The top role offered is Sales Management.
Infrastructure: The college library is very old and does not contain new books. Most of the books are outdated. The infrastructure is also bad, and the classrooms are very old. Wi-Fi and labs are not up to the mark. However, the new campus is much better, with improved facilities like water supply, library, and classrooms.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. But some of them do not focus much on whether students are studying or not. The teaching quality is good. From my perspective, the course curriculum is not very relevant as it follows an old approach and is not fully industry-ready. Exams are not difficult if studied from the beginning.

It has good teachers, average infrastructure, rude administration, and poor connectivity.
Placements: Students are rarely placed in good working set-ups or offices in the B.A. programme. It is because of the lack of skill education provided in the course itself. The highest package offered is 3.6 LPA by a travel consulting company. The lowest package offered is 1.92 LPA. Students typically don't get job opportunities immediately after this course. One student is placed as an intern at Tech Mahindra due to his exceptional customer handling. Generally, teaching, education counselor, client services, and relations are some roles that are offered after the B.A. program.
Infrastructure: There are two buildings currently operating in our college, namely the old campus and the new campus. The old campus is poorly maintained. There are no proper water facilities and very hot classrooms in summer. The library is somewhat okay, but no Wi-Fi is available on campus. There is a canteen with poor hygiene. Lab equipment is outdated. The new campus is well-maintained, and it is primarily used for all events, activities, and everything. Canteen, water facilities, and washrooms are hygienic. Labs are well-equipped. Infrastructure is well-maintained and updated. It is Wi-Fi enabled. It has a decent amphitheater and a beautiful seminar room.
Faculty: Teachers are undoubtedly qualified and knowledgeable. They are excellent at their subjects. Teaching quality is decent, but some teachers are not up to the mark. The course curriculum is relevant, and it is strictly NEP-based. Although only a few courses, like B.Sc and commerce ones, make students industry-ready. Semester exams are conducted using the question papers provided by the University of Delhi, so they are well-balanced. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose a B.A. in History and Political Science because I am always keen on these subjects. I wish they would improve the quality of internal assessment and scoring. They are mostly based on many courses. Average fest and a good number of events are organised. It organises exceptionally good seminars every month. The campus crowd is decent, but the connectivity is very poor. It is 11 KMs from the nearest metro station, and the usual convenience is a government bus. It is situated in a village setting, leaving students with very few choices to eat and freshen up nearby.

Average faculty, infrastructure needs improvement, but okay and affordable college.
Placements: I am from the 2023 batch and will finish my last semester in 2026 (B.A. programme) at Swami Shraddhanand College (Old Campus). About the packages, I don't have much knowledge, but maybe the package can be around 2–3 LPA. Internships may be provided in the last semester, and some students have participated in these to have better placements in the companies hiring freshers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the old campus needs improvement. Classrooms can be more functional if taken care of. Wi-Fi is not available. The library is good and has a good course collection. The canteen in the new building is good but needs better space for sitting.
Faculty: The faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified. Some teachers are strict, but for teaching purposes, it's okay. The curriculum is relevant but needs more practical exposure to attract students. Semester exams are moderate to difficult, but we can pass if we know the basics.
Other: The college is affordable compared to other private institutes. The course is in English, which is fine, and my course often has value as it includes English as a major. No improvements from the college, but it could have a better campus. I chose this course because it is flexible and fun to learn.
