Overall Disappoint?
Placements: At Bharat Calling TISS University, student placement rates are only 40%. This is largely due to the mismanagement by the Bharat Calling founder. The average monthly salary for placed students ranges from 3,000 to 25,000, depending on their skills. Most job opportunities come from local entrepreneurs or shop owners who hire students. The internship program is managed by the hub, providing valuable opportunities for students. Roles available include positions in the manufacturing department of agricultural products and fabrication units.
Infrastructure: The hub is well-designed and located outside the city, offering facilities such as hostels, a library, and classrooms. However, it lacks additional amenities like a canteen, medical facilities, and sports or recreation areas. Students are responsible for seeking out these services, such as medical care and food.
Faculty: The faculty consists of knowledgeable teachers and mentors, making this course a good fit for those interested in agriculture. The syllabus includes practical work, which is a significant advantage. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty; students who attend classes regularly can easily pass with a minimum percentage of 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to explore opportunities in the agriculture field. However, I realize this field may not be the right fit for me. This course is best for students who may find it challenging to gain admission to a B.Sc. in Agriculture program, which is often more theory-based and demanding. In contrast, this B.Voc course focuses on practical applications with a more manageable theoretical component.

    Students also asked

    Q:   Which courses can I do after a D.Ed.? Should I do a BSc or B.Ed?
    A:

The best choice depends on your career aspirations:

    ·       If you want to become a teacher: Opt for a B.Ed. It's the mandatory qualification for teaching in most schools.

    ·       If you want to pursue a career in research or a science-related field: A BSc would be more suitable. It provides a strong foundation for further studies and specialised careers.

    ·       If you're unsure: Consider your interests and skills. Do you enjoy teaching and interacting with students? Or are you more drawn to scientific exploration and research?

    Additional options:

    ·       M.Ed.: If you already have a B.Ed., you can pursue a Master of Education for career advancement or specialisation in a particular teaching area.

    ·       Diploma courses: Various specialised Diploma courses in education or related fields can enhance your skills and knowledge.

Q:   What is the duration of the B.Ed course?
    A:

B.Ed is usually of two years duration. However, some universities and colleges also offer one-year B.Ed courses to students. It consists of four semesters, wherein the final semester is usually reserved for training and practical experience in teaching in any school. The course prepares individuals to be well-trained teachers who can handle children of any age.
