The American College admission criteria for most of the courses is based on merit-secured in the qualifying exam. However, admission to the MBA and MCA is based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance exam. The entrance exams accepted by the American College are CAT, MAT, and TANCET.

The college is not as difficult to access as the top college institutions, but it proves to be hard for low scorers of entrance exams.
