University College of Engineering offers three courses. These programmes are offered in full-time mode and the duration vary depending on the course. University College of Engineering admissions are mainly entrance-based. The college offers BTech, MTech, and MBA courses in full-time mode at undergraduate and postgraduate levels respectively. Students must fulfil both the basic eligibility and selection criteria in order to get a seat the college. B.E. / B.Tech

Candidate must have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. from schools situated in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu native candidate who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce Original Nativity Certificate. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can be eligible to apply. Sons & daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible, irrespective of their domicile. Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.

Admission to the University College of Engineering is highly competitive but not beyond one's control. TS EAMCET entrance examination qualifies a student, and the general categories must hold at least 36%. Cut-off ranks are remarkably different as per the courses selected, as certain branches demand a better rank than others. Direct admission is not available. Counseling process, however centralizes admissions based on performance scores in the entrance examinations. In general, securing a spot is not easy, but motivation and eligibility ensure this accessibility for students.

To get into University College of Engineering, students must have completed the last qualifying exam as per the course's requirements. Candidates can pursue the courses across several specialisations. University College of Engineering does not offer any MTech course. The college offers only Btech courses in five specialisations. To be eligible for the course, the candidate needs to have a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th in a relevant stream from any recognised board.
