Staff are friendly, and their way of teaching is good. There is no assurance of placements.

Placements: University College of Engineering, Tindivanam is a government college. In UCET, no campus placements were provided for the students of our batch in 2017. Only off-campus placements were available. They provided placement training sessions in the 8th semester for the students who scored above 75% marks and also for SC/ST students with no criteria in marks. Overall 20-30 students got placed in the off-campus drives. The highest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month and the lowest was Rs. 5,000 to 8,000 per month. Usually, the roles offered to students are of trainees. Only 20% of students got internships from our college. They didn't offer any stipend during the internship. Our college had a placement cell, and they provide placement training only after the 8th semester, so I think that the placement cell is inefficient. It is better if they provide training from the second year itself.

Infrastructure: In UCET, Wi-Fi facilities are available for hostel students only. But we can use the internet in labs during our free time. Classrooms look good with infrastructures like fans, tables, windows and screen. Library facility is also good, and we can take up to two books from the library to study. Medical facilities are also available with good infrastructure. Sports and games events are conducted in our college and prizes are awarded to students who stood in the first three places. They also provide a certificate for the runner-up in sports. The quality of labs and classrooms is the best; there is no issue from that side. Quality of food in the canteen is also good. But they usually serve the same dishes. Hostel rooms are the best, and everyone has their own cot. Maximum 7-8 members are accommodated in a room. I didn't face any infrastructure related issues during my tenure. The infrastructure of our college is excellent.

Faculty: Teaching quality is the best with good lecturers. But some teachers who have 1 to 2 years of experience have taught for the students of our batch. I think they are very poor at teaching some concepts. But all the teachers are very jovial and teach in a friendly manner. Usually, they follow two teaching methods; one is blackboard teaching, and the other is powerpoint teaching. But sometimes, some subjects are taught through satellite teaching from Anna University. The college provides industry exposure. They teach many things about companies and introduce us to the company environment. The course curriculum definitely helps you in your career opportunities, and the teaching of faculty members should surely help for your career opportunities.

Other: Many events are conducted in our college. An annual day is conducted every year. Prizes and merit certificates are awarded to students who stood in the first two places during the academic year. Cultural events are also conducted in our college every year. Various events like dancing, singing, acting, short films, drawing, food competition, and Mehandi competition, etc., are organised during the cultural fest. Many other events are conducted during the cultural fest every year. They also conduct a women's day event. Hostel day event is celebrated in the hostel, and some television celebrities grace the event every year. Campus crowd is high, and there 60 to 70 students in a single department. There are 5 departments in our college. The campus is well-maintained, and the environment on campus is good. Flowers, plants and trees are maintained properly with a good and attractive environment. Scholarships are offered for students who belong to SC/ST/MBC/OBC categories. Extracurricular activities such as games and sports events are conducted every year, and students are given prizes.

Good teachers are there, especially in ECE.

Placements: Almost 70% of students will be placed at the placement interviews, especially at Infosys (sometimes). So there is an opportunity to get placed in TCS also. The top roles are offered in the courses of information technology and electrical and electronic engineering.

Infrastructure: Wi-fi technology is provided around all labs, especially the information technology lab, computer science lab, electrical and electronics lab, and the common Wi-fi working at BSNL. So, the internet will be flawlessly connected with no compromises. Food is available in the mess and at the canteen.

Faculty: The teachers in the University College of Engineering are good and well-trained. There is also a teaching faculty that will provide enough support to learn new things every day. Also, the HOD's character is nice in every direction. The overall percentage is about 60%.

Other: I have chosen it because of my interest. Improvements in lab facilities are needed.

Review of University College of Engineering, Tindivanam, Anna University.

Placements: In the past 2021 batch, 45 students were placed with an average salary in my own department. A maximum of students are placed in MNCs, TCS, and Zoho. TCS, BSNL, Tech Mahindra, etc. are offering jobs on my UCET campus.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very average and has a hot atmosphere with sunny days. The college has a good climate during the winter season. The facilities of my hostel are very good, with a green garden and a peaceful breeze. The canteen is very dissatisfying. We can only buy the necessary groceries; other junk foods are not sold here.

Faculty: Teachers are very poor at teaching. The teachers are struggling to update new technologies in software. But some were good in curriculum completeness within a schedule time. The curriculum is very relevant, but it does not make the students industry-ready.

Other: I chose this for my interest in computer knowledge and coding. I would like to do an internship and receive training in Python. There is no insufficiency in conducting the events (sports day, annual day, cultural visit, industrial visit, women's day, symposium, etc.) and scholarships based on community are provided. I learned more from these extracurricular activities.
