• Candidates, applying for MBA admission at VGSOM, need to possess a valid CAT score. For international candidates, a valid GMAT score is required.

VGSOM offers a two-year MBA programme for Management aspirants as its flagship course. It is a residential programme, spread across four semesters. The total seat intake for MBA programme is 170. Admission to the programme is based on CAT score obtained by eligible candidates, followed by their performance in PI round. Aspirants also need to keep in mind the below-mentioned criteria before applying:

• Candidates, appearing for the final year of their bachelor’s degree and, are awaiting results can also apply. However, if selected, the admission of such candidates will be provisional, only if the candidate submits a pre-final certificate signed by competent authorities of previous institute/ university, latest by May 31, 2022
• Applicants must be in good health. In case of any discrepancy found in the certificate of medical fitness (submitted during registration), the opinion of the School Medical Officer (SMO) will be final
• Candidates, belonging to PwD category, are required to appear before a medical board on or before October 31, 2022, at IIT Kharagpur

Selection process:

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur MBA selection takes place in two stages. In the first stage, candidates undergo Preliminary Screening based on CAT score and past academic performance, followed by a Personal Interview (PI). In the second stage of the admission process, known as the Final Selection stage, a ranking is prepared based on candidate’s cumulative score, including the Application Rating (AR), CAT 2020 score and performance in PI round. These stages are discussed below in detail:

1. Preliminary Screening:

As mentioned above, in stage 1 of shortlisting procedure, candidates undergo preliminary screening on the basis of CAT 2020 score. The minimum CAT cutoff required to qualify for admission across various categories is tabulated below:

For shortlisting CAT-qualified candidates for PI round, the final score is calculated by adding AR score (out of 20) and Gender Diversity Factor (GDF) to overall CAT score (scaled out of 20).

Note: Two marks will be given to all female applicants for GDF. However, the GDF component will not be considered for final composite score calculation.

Application Rating Calculation: For calculating AR, the authorities consider applicants’ academic performances (aggregate obtained) at various stages, including Class 10, Class 12, UG, PG (if applicable) and professional work experience. Check how AR is calculated for each academic progression:

Note: A five-year integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree would be considered equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree for admission process and the candidate would not get separate points in their AR score for the same.

*Note: The rating score F is applicable only for certain professional qualifications, including CA (awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), CS (awarded by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India), CMA (awarded by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India), CFA (awarded by the CFA Institute, USA) and FRM (awarded by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, USA).

Rating Scores for work experience (Rating Score G):

*Note: Only graduate-level work experience is considered. Any work experience gained through training/ projects/ internship as part of course curriculum is not considered. For applicants who are continuing in service, the experience will be counted latest up to January 31, 2022, irrespective of the date on which the application form was filled.

2. Final Selection

As mentioned above, the final selection is based on the cumulative score of the AR, score in CAT, and candidate’s performance in PI round. The final offer of admission is made based on merit for each category. If a candidate is barely fulfiling the minimum qualifying criteria, they will not be granted admission in case seats are limited.

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur EMBA Admission 2022

VGSOM offers an Executive MBA (EMBA) programme for working professionals. The programme is of three-year duration, divided into 12 terms out of which nine are teaching terms and three are project terms. The classes of EMBA are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays for a 15-hour duration (each day) for three weekends while one weekend remains off. Admission to the programme is based on candidate’s performance in a written examination and interview round conducted by IIT Kharagpur. Reservation of seats for SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS candidates in this programme is as per the Government of India rules. Candidates, applying to EMBA programme at VGSOM, must have at least three years of experience as of July 19, 2020, along with the fulfilment of basic eligibility criteria as mentioned in the table below:

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur PGDBA Admission 2022

The Post-graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI for Business graduates. It is a two-year full-time residential diploma programme that comprises a six-month internship on an analytics project in a Business organisation. Selection of candidates is conducted through a written test and PI round. However, final admission is made on the basis of performance in the written test and PI round, work experience, and past academic records. The reservation policy of Government of India is applicable for PGDBA admission. The eligibility criteria and seat intake for PGDBA programme are as follows:

As mentioned above, candidates can visit the official website of IIM Calcutta to fill the application form for PGDBA admission. However, for offline application submission, download the PGDBA application form  from the official website of IIT Kharagpur and submit the same by visiting the admission cell of IIT Kharagpur. Candidates willing to seek MBA/ EMBA/ PhD admission need to fill the application form through ERP portal by following below-given steps:

Step 1: Visit the official ERP portal of IIT Kharagpur (www.erp.iitkgp.ac.in). On its homepage, click on ‘Admission to MBA/ EMBA/ PhD’ to proceed further.

Step 2: Register by filling in basic details, including name, email ID and dare of birth. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.

Step 3: Upon successful registration, login using email ID and password. The application form opens up.

Step 4: Fill the first page of the application form by filling in remaining personal details, such as guardian details, category, languages known, address of communication, etc. Also, upload a scanned copy of birth certificate as age proof.

Step 5: In the next step of the application form, fill in all the academic details, starting from Class 10 to the last qualifying degree/ exam. Also, furnish details regarding entrance exam score and work experience (if any).

Step 6: Upload the required set of documents. Also, upload signature and passport-size photograph in JPG/ JPEG format.
