VIT Pune PhD Admission
The institute offers PhD programme in six specialisations. Admission procedure for PhD is followed as per rules and regulations of SSPU. Candidates are shortlisted based on a PET score followed by a personal interview round. Aspirants who have appeared for UGC-NET (Including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (Including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE are exempted from appearing for PET. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have completed a master’s degree or MPhil or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (50% aggregate for reserved category and differently-abled aspirants) are eligible to apply for PhD programme. MPhil students of SSPU whose dissertations have been evaluated and viva-voce is pending may be admitted to PhD programme.
Candidates possessing a degree considered equivalent to MPhil from an Indian institution from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency can also apply. Candidates with MD/ MS qualification will be considered eligible for PhD programme in the subject equivalent to Medical Science under the faculty of Science and Technology.

No, you can't. For a regular BTech seat at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, direct offline walk-in admission is not available. Regular admissions happen entirely online through the centralized CAP rounds. However, for a small percentage of institutional seats or remaining vacant spots, you can apply directly on the college website. Even for these institutional spots, the college creates a transparent merit list based on entrance exam scores.
To start your BTech application for Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, your first step is registering on the official Maharashtra CET portal. COEP is cheaper with tuition fees of INR 1.1 Lacs - INR 5.03 lakh, and has a stronger name and alumni network. VIT Pune has higher fees of INR 7 Lacs but a lower cutoff. If you can get COEP, most students take it. If not, VIT is a safe private choice.
