Review of Zakir Husain Delhi College.
Placements: Around 70% of students get placed in my course. The highest package offered in my course is 40 LPA, the average package is 15 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for my course are Penguin India, Hay House, Jaico Publishing House, and various newspapers and magazines.
Infrastructure: All kinds of facilities and infrastructure are available in my department and course. Wi-Fi is available for free, classrooms are quite big and fully furnished, and the library has lots of helpful books. Hostel food is also very nice, and medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, kind, and sweet. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. They never deny help to any student. The course curriculum is relevant. It also makes students industry-ready.

This college is recommended by me.
Placements: The placement percentage of students in Political Science Hons is about 40 to 55%, and the offered package was 6.09 LPA (the highest), while the median package offered was about 80,000. Which is, I think, a decent package for any UG student. The top recruiting companies were Amazon, ICICI, Google, and Wipro. They are known for recruiting the best. Approximately 30-40% of students from Zakir Husain Delhi College (ZHDC) secure internships, with many finding opportunities in companies like Internshala, Youth Ki Awaaz, and Penguin India.
Infrastructure: In the college, we get many facilities available, but it is not as good as expected. Still, it's kind of okay; the very much-needed facility is clean and has drinkable water, and here our college lacks that. However, now that a new union has been appointed, they do good work for students. We have great library facilities and comfortable seats for students.
Faculty: The faculty in the Political Science Department at Zakir Husain Delhi College is generally well-regarded. Teachers are described as highly qualified, with most holding Ph.D. degrees and excelling in their areas of specialization, such as Political Theory, International Relations, Comparative Politics, and Indian Politics. The Political Science Honours curriculum at Zakir Husain Delhi College is described as relevant and aligned with contemporary needs, particularly for students aiming for careers in public services and Comparative Politics, which are designed to build strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Other: I think there is not much that I can say now but as we have a slump surrounding the college, that is one negative point that I want to see improved.

I'd say it needs improvement in almost all the fields.
Placements: There is no particular placement cell or department for Philosophy at our college. But we do have a student-run society that helps us get placement or gives us information about the placements, how the application process goes, and what documents we require. So, basically, as a society or a cell that is solely student-run, they're doing good.
Infrastructure: The canteen water service is bad, the only working AC rooms we have are the teacher staff room and the principal room, and not even the college admin has an AC. The library, although equipped with its Wi-Fi service and doesn't have internet access for students, it has been solely reserved for the faculty members. The food in the canteen is rather good compared to all the other things.
Faculty: Teachers take their classes when they wish it but when they take them, they take them seriously. The materials have been provided via other colleges and online materials only. Ever since the NEP application, the workload has increased drastically, adding courses that are irrelevant and time-consuming, which is completely diverted from the courses we have selected and tried to focus on. The exams are satisfactory since they are mostly from the PYQ, which helps us prepare better.

I am not satisfied, but strong literary, cultural activities and infrastructure need work!
Placements: In our course, around 35% of students got placed through the college or by applying themselves. The highest salary package is about 6 lacs per year. The lowest is around 2.5 lacs per year, and the average is about 3.5 lacs per year. Companies that hire students from our course were The Times Group, Wipro, Teach for India, and TCS. A few students also got jobs in small start-ups as content writers or social media managers. Around 30% of students got internships. Some companies that offered internships were Internshala, Youth Ki Awaaz, and Penguin India.
Infrastructure: Zakir Husain Delhi College has built a new building, but it is still not in use. English Honours classes are held in the old building, which has poor whiteboards, broken desks, and sometimes non-working fans. In summer, classrooms become very hot. Once, a ceiling fan even fell down. The library is useful, and Wi-Fi is available, but not very reliable. The sports ground is mostly unused, and hostel facilities are limited. The canteen is average. Overall, the infrastructure needs a lot of improvement, especially since students are still using outdated classrooms while a new building remains unused.
Faculty: The English Honours faculty at Zakir Husain College is mostly helpful and qualified. Some teachers are very knowledgeable and engaging, while a few are just sick of notes. The curriculum is interesting and covers important literary texts, but it is not very industry-focused. It helps in building reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Semester exams are moderate, not too easy or too hard. With regular study, passing is not difficult. The pass percentage is quite high, around 85-90%. Overall, the course is academically strong but could be more practical for job readiness.
Other: I am from the B.A. English (Hons) 2nd year batch. I chose this course because I am passionate about literature and creative writing. The best part of our course is the workshops and practical activities. Probably the best in the college. We often have open mic sessions, theatre, and interactive seminars. The curriculum is rich, and cultural events like the North East Fest and ethnic dance programs happen frequently. The campus is in a good location with great connectivity. The crowd is diverse, and there is a good mix of academic and cultural vibes. Still, more career-focused sessions would be a nice addition.

This college is an example of the dark side of Delhi University.
Placements: There is a very low amount of placement offers. Recruiting companies that visit the college are not that good. The highest package is 7 LPA. A minimum of students get internships. Some major placement partners are ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Genpact, etc.
Infrastructure: There is a new building under construction which might take another 10 years to complete. Moreover, there is no hostel facility. Don't expect too much from the canteen. There is only one playground where people play only cricket. The library has numerous important books but there will be a lot of noise.
Faculty: Many teachers are not trying harder to improve their lecturing skills and they're just there to waste our time. The only thing they care about is our attendance. There is a lot of bias against some students. Some teachers are very racist toward northeast students.
Other: I chose this college for their legacies but turn out it was only in the past. The image of the college is deteriorating day by day. There is always a gang fight between Hindus and Muslims every other week.

    Good college in every aspect.
Placements: Being a good college in providing academic support, the college lags behind in good placement opportunities. However, the placement cell of the college has shown considerably growth in the recent times. Approximately 80% of the students get internships in various MNCs.
Infrastructure: The college has two buildings, an old and a new constructed in 2013. The old building has a shabby condition, with small and dirty classrooms, broken windows and fans. The library and auditorium are the best built, library is air conditioned with Wi-Fi access.
Faculty: I have had the best faculty experience. They are quite helpful, with abundant knowledge on the field. Difficulty level of semester exams is moderate and the result is fair. The one who studies hard gets passed while the others face backlash. The faculty is always supportive in any problem faced by the students. However, students do face problem in maintaining a good attendance record.
Other: I chose the course because of my interest in learning languages. I could have done better in my course back then but I am satisfied. I have experienced 3 fests in my college and all were amazing.
