Admission criteria for MDes at the NIFT, Kannur, the candidates should have passed B. Des or any other graduate degree in a relevant discipline. 

For MDes admission, a candidate should complete and passed a bachelor's degree programme from a recognised university in the relevant stream. The candidate should hold the valid degree and mark sheets as well. These documents can be required for submission during form filling or admission confirmation for details verification.

NIFT Kannur accepts NIFT Entrance Exam scores for admission to the M.Des courses. During NIFT Kannur cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank stood at 326 for the General All India category students. So, conidering the 2023 cutoff, candidates seeking admission to NIFT Kannur must secure over and above 300 rank to be eligible for M.Des admission. However, please note that the cutoff ranks for the upcoming session may not be the same as previous year cutoff ranks, as they can vary based on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and so on. 

NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

• Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
• Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) releases the official schedule at - niftadmissions. The schedule includes the event-wise dates related to the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. This includes the release of the NIFT 2025 application form, the application last date (with regular and late fees), written exam date, declaration of results, etc. Alternatively, the candidate can follow this page to stay updated about NIFT 2025 exam.

Students are required to pay the application fee to submit the form and complete the application process of NIFT Kannur. It is non-refundable. Some of the important tips to prepare for NIFT Kannur placement interviews are listed below:

4. Well-structured resume: Prepare a clear resume mentioning all the skills required for the job. Do not mention unnecessary details, as this can backfire the candidates

Candidates need to submit a list of documents at the time of admission. These are required for verification purposes. Moreover, the documents that a candidate must have at the time of admission are:

• Valid email Id (the email should be valid for at least 1 year)
• Personal and educational qualification details
• Caste/Tribe/ class certificate (for SC/ ST/ OBC candidate)
• Disability certificate for a person with disabilities
• Image of scanned photograph in jpg/ jpeg format not exceeding 50 KB

The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) will conduct the Situation Test for the B. Des programme tentatively in the 4th week of April 2023. The Situation Test will be held offline at various NIFT campuses. The candidate is given the option to select their preferred test centre soon after declaration of NIFT written exam results. On the day of the exam, the candidate needs to report at the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the admit card. Note that candidates who arrive at the exam centre after commencement of the exam will not be allowed entry inside the exam hall.
