NIFT Kannur offers a full-time MDes programme. The duration of this programme is two years. Candidates are selected for the MDes programme based on merit. Candidates will get the final admission offer based on their performance in CAT, GAT, GD and PI rounds. The total seat intake for MFM is 45. The total fee for the MDes programme is INR 6.44L. Q: Can I get into National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur without NIFT entrance exam?

NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT.
Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.

The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

Overall, the best college for the M.Des. course.

Placements: Almost 66% of students improved during our study. The highest wage offered was 17 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. The average wage was between 7 and 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course included Arvind Garments, Tommy Hilfiger, and Fab India. Industry training resulted in internships for nearly 60% of the students. Top positions included content graphic designer, fashion designer, and more.

Infrastructure: The campus had 15 hostels for both boys and girls. Tarachand was the best-known hostel at the university. The university also offered exclusive hostel rooms to international students. Hostel quality was superb, but politics were prevalent. Food and sports facilities were good.

Faculty: Teachers were knowledgeable and helpful with guidance. Semester exams were simple. The course material was excellent, preparing students to work in the industry or for any company. Tutors and teachers were extremely helpful and qualified. Their teaching quality was exceptional. The pass rate was 70%.
