Life at MITS taught me the importance of failure. It has made me realise that failure is also a part of life

Madhav Institute of Technology-Gwalior

I appeared for JEE Main on April 4, 2015 and my branch of study was Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I chose the offline mode for my JEE examination. There were three sections, each consisting of 30 questions. The marks were rewarded as +4 for a correct response and -1 for an incorrect response. The total marks were 360. I worked hard to achieve s decent score in the examination because my dream was to complete my engineering from an NIT or an IIT. I qualified the examination with a good score as expected.

I also appeared for AP EAMCET on May 8, 2015. It consisted of a total of 160 questions. All the sections were same as JEE Main but the number of questions in each section varied. The Mathematics section comprised 80 questions, Physics 40, and Chemistry 40. The total marks were 160, each question carrying 1 mark and no negative mark for an incorrect response.

I didn’t get enrolled into any coaching classes to prepare for JEE Main. I had studied the concepts of my academics thoroughly. I used to read textbooks and clarified the doubts from my lecturers. The preparation for AP EAMCET was also similar.

Our college conducted some practice tests to make us aware of the test pattern and time management. These were my practices to get qualified for my entrance examinations for engineering.

EAMCET examination is somewhat easier than JEE Main if we are able to manage time for each question. My IPE marks were 978/1000. These added an advantage to my rank. However, I got a rank of 28,776 in my JEE Mains and 15,080 in EAMCET. I thought I would go for IIIT - Dharwad where I had got a seat. But unfortunately, I was unable to go and achieve my dream.

Then, I got an opportunity to join Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science, Madanapalle.  It was a famous engineering college that was well talked-about. I was happy that I could join the Computer Science branch, which I was interested in.

This college is simply a wonderful place for education. The climate is good, the faculty members are extraordinary, and the infrastructure is fine. Everything is an advantage if utilised effectively. There are many opportunities for the students for their bright future. There are many on-campus drives for the students in their final year of study. There are many companies which offer internships during the second or third year of study. The library is open till 8 pm every day and transport facility is provided for those who stay in the library.

It is the best place to study and enhance our skills. I am in my final year of engineering. I have yet to attend my campus drives. I think I will get a job offer before the completion of my engineering. I have chosen the right path for my career because I have been successful up till now in every aspect of my study and planning my future.

My college life has been memorable because of friends, and interesting because of studies and new things. It has taught me the importance of failure in our lives. It has made me realise that failure is also a part of life.

I regret my mistake of not being interested in programming at first. But later, I came to know of its importance and learnt it. This would help me pursue higher education and achieve my dreams. This would make my career bright. I am thankful to this college for teaching me many valuable lessons of life.
