To be eligible for admission into a course, the candidate
Must have passed the Qualifying Examination and secured the prescribed Minimum Marks in the subject (s)/ course (s) concerned as mentioned in the Information Brochure, and
Must have qualified in the Common PG Entrance Test conducted in the concerned subject in which admission is sought. For administrative reasons, the Convenor may, conduct the entrance test before the publication of the results of the qualifying examination concerned. But qualifying at the Entrance Test alone does not confer any right of admission into a course. In addition to being qualified at the Common Entrance Test, a candidate will be eligible for admission only if he/ she passes the qualifying examination before the commencement of admissions process and secure the prescribed minimum marks in the subject (s)/ course (s) concerned. He/ She must submit the necessary documents listed under item VII of these instructions at the time of counseling.
For Arts courses, students need to have a relevant undergraduate degree as per that subject's rule.

Eligibility Criteria for CPGET Exam
All candidates need to qualify for the CPGET eligibility criteria before appearing for the test. The main CPGET eligibility requirements include a minimum education qualification. All students must have completed or be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree with at least 40% marks. Some PG courses may need specific subjects. CPGET 2026 has no age limit. Faculty of Arts:
For all courses in Faculty of Arts, students should have got these marks or CGPA in their qualifying exam:
1. Students must pass the qualifying exam with minimum 40% marks or equal CGPA. For SC/ST students, just passing is enough.
2. The aspirants passing the examination compartmentally and securing the required percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA are also eligible.
Faculty of Social Sciences:
For all courses offered under the Faculty of Social Sciences, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria in their qualifying examination:
- Candidates must have secured at least 40% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the qualifying examination. However, a pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination compartmentally and obtained the required percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA are also eligible for admission.

Faculty of Commerce:
Any Graduate can appear for the exam.
Faculty of Education:
For MEd: BEd Degree with 55% Marks and 50% for SC/ST/BC candidates or equivalent CGPA.
For MPEd: B.P.Ed. Degree with 55% marks and 50% for SC/ST/BC candidates.
Faculty of Science:
For admission to any course under the Faculty of Science, students must meet the following criteria in their qualifying examination:
- A minimum of 40% marks or an equivalent CGPA is required to pass.
- SC/ST candidates are eligible upon simply passing the qualifying examination.
Candidates who have passed the examination compartmentally and obtained the required marks or equivalent CGPA are also considered eligible.

CPGET 2026 Application Form
There are two stages to filling the CPGET application form - registration and filling out application form details. During the registration stage, applicants must enter their personal and contact details. The registration fee must also be paid during this stage. Once registration is complete and the registration ID is generated, applicants can go on to fill the application form details that will include selecting programmes, choosing examination centre zones and providing academic details.
