Yes. While government colleges (IET, IIIT) strictly require JEE Main ranks, private institutions have two alternative routes:
- Direct Admission / Management Quota
- University Entrance Exams

SAGE University Indore conducts its own entrance exam-SEE for admission in BTech and BTech (Hons) course. Hence, aspirants do not have to pass JEE Main for admission. Aspirants appearing for SAGE Entrance Exam can also get scholarship based on their SEE score.

RV College of Engineering accepts JEE Main score for admission in B.E. through Management Quota. Students need to qualify the following eligibility criteria to get admission through this route:
- Class 10: Minimum 70% in Science & Mathematics subjects separately
- Class 11: Minimum 65% in Maths & Physics subjects separately.
- Class 12: Minimum 60% in Physics & Mathematics subjects separately

Yes, candidates who did not appear for JEE Mains can still apply for NMIMS Mumbai BTech courses. This institute conducts its own entrance exam for selecting candidates for BTech courses which is called NMIMS CET.
Admission of candidates is based on the ranks they achieve in this entrance exam.

Yes, JEE Main is the only accepted exam for VNIT Nagpur BTech admission. Candidates seeking BTech admission at the institute must register for JoSAA/ CSAB counselling and select VNIT Nagpur while locking their preferences. However, only candidates who clear the JEE Main (Paper 1) cut-off will be allotted a seat for BTech at the institute. Candidates with valid JEE Main (Paper 2) score can get BArch admission at VNIT Nagpur.
