I am extremely happy after getting admission to this prestigious and esteemed university.
Placements: Approximately 80% of students get placed in my college. The highest package offered is 32 LPA, and the average package is 12 LPA. The lowest package is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wipro, TCS, and Deloitte visit the college for placements. 95% of students got internships from my course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is super clean and hygienic. Rooms in my hostel are fully furnished and super clean. The food quality is good. There is no repetition of food. The mess and canteen area is also clean. There are several sports facilities in my college including indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: Teachers and professors in my college are super helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They have good knowledge of their particular subject. The teaching quality is also very good. The course curriculum is so much related to the industry requirements, which makes students unveil their talent in this competitive industry.
Other: I chose this course because I am very much interested in building things and searching for things. Several fests and small events are organised in my college. The campus crowd is not too much as we have a very big campus.

Any way NIT is a NIT.
Placements: Placements are good here. Almost 90 percent of the students were placed. The main recruiters are KEC International and Narayana. Last year, some of the students were placed in BPCL with an 18 LPA CTC, which was the highest package, and the lowest was 6 LPA in the civil engineering branch. Students did their internships in PWD, AAI, some private companies, and AIT Thailand.
Infrastructure: Currently, our campus is working in a temporary campus, so it doesn't have advanced facilities. Labs are equipped with all the necessary equipment that is needed, but slowly the labs are being shifted to the permanent campus, which has all the advanced machines and laboratories. Hostels are quite good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Some teachers teach according to competitive examinations and prepare questions accordingly, while some follow the syllabus, which is still helpful for competitive examinations. The course is relevant, and if you study regularly and pay attention in class, then you can easily get a good score in the examination.
Other: I like this course so I choose it and lab facilities should be improved .

Good faculty, infrastructure, and facilities as well as a good senior junior bonding.
Placements: This year, i.e., 2024, 80% of the batch has been placed with the highest package of 46 LPA and an average package of 13 LPA from CSE. Apart from this, from my department, the highest package of 12 LPA and an average package of 5.2 LPA have been placed. Top recruiting companies include Amazon, Winjeet, KEC, Bajaj, Narayana Groups, L&T, Vedanta, Infosys, etc. From civil engineering department, many students got internships at Aditya Birla, SAIL, GAIL, etc.
Infrastructure: For Civil Engineering department, there are separate labs for different courses, e.g., structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, Transportation Engineering, Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering, Engineering Drawing lab, etc. Library facilities are also available for students. As NIT Meghalaya is being operated from its temporary campus, some apartments have been rented as hostels. In hostels, Wi-Fi and mess gym facilities are available and for transportation from hostel to college and vice versa, buses are available.
Faculty: In NIT Meghalaya, faculty members are helpful and also highly qualified. They are always ready to help students in every field. In NIT Meghalaya, the 50+50+100 rule is being followed for semester exams; from that, 50 marks are from internal evaluation, e.g., class tests, assignments, and viva. 50 marks are for the midterm, and 100 marks are for the endterm examination. Overall, out of 200, the semester has been evaluated.
Other: As NIT Meghalaya is being operated from its temporary campus, the student capacity for each branch is less than that of other NITs. Apart from B.Tech, masters in technology (M.Tech) in some special categories and masters of science in physics, chemistry and mathematics are available at NIT Meghalaya.

Good college because of the study level. As compared to IIITs and GFTIs, this NIT is very good.
Placements: 20% to 40% of students were placed, and the highest and lowest packages were INR 12 lac/annum and INR 7 lac/annum, respectively. The average package is INR 10 lacs per year. Some students get internships in different fields during the course duration. For the ECE branch, several things are in this college.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not so good, but professors are very good. We have Wi-Fi, labs, a library, and separate classrooms. The quality of food is not good in hostels, but in college it is good. Medical facilities are very good; colleges have a separate department for them.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and have great knowledge. They try to make students industry-ready. Semester exams have a difficult level. Previously, it had 30% criteria from the 2nd semester; now it has been removed, but 75% attendance criteria are in.

The college is good from all the angles.
Placements: The college placement percentage is 87%. Microsoft, TCS and all reputed companies come to our college during placement years. It provided many courses like computer Science engineering, electronics and communication, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
Infrastructure: At NITM, all teachers are really well at giving their knowledge to students. All labs are advanced and provide very quality education. They have many clubs to explore your talent. They are always one step ahead in sense of fests like techno fest and cognitia.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful in their subjects. They provide quality knowledge with many live and practical examples. The main reason to get admission there is because of the teacher and their way of teaching. They provide many trips which are very useful for the students to get more knowledge related to real experience.
Other: B.Tech always seems a very good course to pursue because of their requirement in the world and also very good to get high packages in future.

Dissatisfied with its temporary campus and infrastructure. Satisfied with overall teaching.
Placements: 80-90 % placement is being offered for all branches. The highest salary offered is from CSE department which is 45 lacs per annum offered by TRC, Average salary is around 6-7 lacs per annum, the lowest salary is around 3-4 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies in NIT Meghalaya are L and T construction, wipro, Infosys, IBM, Power Grid, Microsoft, Tata and Bosch. Top roles offered in NIT Meghalaya are software developer, software engineer, web developer. Etc. The highest salary for civil engineering department is 7-8 lacs per annual, Average salary is around 5-6 Lacs per annual, the lowest salary is around 2-3 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The facilities in NIT Meghalaya like labs are well-equipped and well maintained. There are many labs designed for different departments. There are three computer labs. One of the computer lab contain macbook computers where students have access to them while the other two computer labs contain computers from other brands. Besides all these labs there is language lab too. The library is not that big since it's a temporary Campus but it do contains specific essential books meant for students and teachers. E-library is also present. The classrooms are small but each classroom contain a board and a projector. The Wi-Fi is working endlessly both day and night depending upon your location and traffic. The quality of food is average neither bad nor good. However food in hostel is more fine as compared to college mess. Since hostels and college are situated in different locations in Shillong City, there's mess hall in college specially meant for hostellers. A canteen and small cafe are also situated inside the college campus. The food being provided both in hostel and college are rice, vegetables, roti, bread, chicken, paneer, pudding. Etc. Inside the college campus there's a medical room where a doctor is available to check and prescribe medicine for students in case of emergencies. Also a counsellor is present in the college for guiding the students if there's any problem with them. Almost all hostels have it's own carrom board where students can play. However since it's a temporary Campus there's no basketball, badminton court, cricket ground, football ground. Etc. However, the college conduct these sports annually in the form of competition in state stadium.
Faculty: The teachers at NIT Meghalaya are all helpful to the students and they are ready to clear students doubts without any problem and they are always be there for student. They are knowledgeable and they are well qualified as most of them passed from prestigious institutes like IITs and from renowned foreign universities. The teaching quality at NIT Meghalaya was overall good and excellent. Yes, The course curriculum at NIT Meghalaya is relevant as it makes the students industry ready.
Other: I chose this course because I have a keen interest in it. The best thing about this course is that it's easy to learn. Also, job demanding are increasing for this course in Meghalaya is increasing. The best thing that I wish to improve about my course is that from first year of engineering itself, there should be all core subjects so that students will experience and understand more about the course from first year itself. In NIT Meghalaya, there are two types of main fest: the technical fest known as 'Cognitia' and the cultural fest known as 'Shishir'. In these fest mainly cognitia, celebrities like famous bollywood singers used to come and sing for concerts. Besides these there are lots of other events like EBSB where we have webinars on different places, then we have the annual quiz, debate, temporary speech, painting, poster, singing, dancing, poetry and essay competition. Also we have the intra-football and intra-cricket match where it is being held annually. NIT Meghalaya has the good internet connectivity both in college and hostel. Students are being provided login ID and password inorder to access the Wi-Fi in campus and in hostel. The download speed in library and common room is 2MBps, in computer lab is 1-2MBps, in hostel is 1MBps (average). During low traffic times it may reach upto 4-5 MBps. NIT Meghalaya campus has beautiful scenery as it is situated in hilly area. Its climate is amazing. During oct-nov, cherry blossom flowers blooms all over the campus making it more splendid and eye-catching. Unfortunately, the campus is very small since it's a temporary Campus. There are no basketball court, no gym, no swimming pool, no badminton court in campus. However for football and cricket NITM used to conduct the programme in the state stadium. Though the campus is small but it is not crowded since students have different timings for their classes. The worse thing in NIT Meghalaya is that it has poor infrastructure and has small temporary Campus. The Permanent campus of NIT Meghalaya is under construction in Cherrapunjee which is very big and situated in the most beautiful place in Meghalaya. Different scholarships are available for overseas students, UG, PG and for Ph.D. students. Extra curricular activities are present like carrom board, singing, dancing, Yoga, quiz and debate competition. Etc. In NIT Meghalaya there are various clubs like photography club, dance and drama club, robotics club, literary club, music club, coding club. , etc.

It is an excellent college in terms of academics and placements.
Placements: I am in the second year, so I don't know in detail about placements. But I have seen the data on NIRF that is submitted by college to the MHRD. The average salary package offered in the year 2018 was 5.4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was 17.2 LPA. So I can say that NITM is a good college if you are a hard worker. More than 90% of students got placed in the year 2018. In our college, there is a centre for career development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of NITM is good. All hostels and campus are well-equipped with Wi-Fi facility. Labs are well-equipped with all instruments. A medical facility is available 24 hours. Sports and game clubs are also active in many games. We were runnerup in a football tournament held in NIT Rourkela, the previous year. Quality of classrooms and labs is good. The food is not of very good quality like every hostel mess. We do not have a permanent campus. The construction of the permanent campus is about to complete in Sohra, Cherrapunji. According to our director sir, we are going to shift by 2020 or in starting of 2021. The hostel provides 3 seater, 2 seater and single rooms.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very excellent and cooperative. Many of them are PhD holders from well-reputed colleges like IITs, and many of them have studied in foreign countries like the US, JAPAN, etc. Teachers have excellent knowledge, and you only need to ask the question and discuss it with them. The teacher-student ratio is good. In my opinion, the teaching style is good because maximum of them are experienced teachers. Many of them always involve in research and publication. Some teachers are very innovative. We only need to connect with our teachers and involve them in new innovations and technology.
Other: Our college organizes two cultural fests every year. One is "Cognita" which is our annual technical fest, and another is "Shishir ", and it is annual cultural fest. NITM have various clubs like photography club, coding club, robotics club, dance and drama club, music club, literary club, etc.

I am satisfied because of faculty, average placements and really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placements in our college are comparatively high than other North East NITs. In the civil branch, placements are good. The highest salary package of 7 LPA and the lowest salary package of 2 LPA were offered in our college. Many reputed companies visited here. Maybe 40% of the students are eligible for internships from our college.
Infrastructure: We don't have our permanent campus now, but the college has good facilities. Wi-Fi facility is always available, and classrooms conditions are average. The library is pretty good, and games facilities are available. Medical facilities are also good. Hostel rooms are nice, and the canteen food is good.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified, knowledgeable and are very helpful as a guardian. Their teaching quality is very good, and their teaching methods include a blackboard, projector, or sometimes orally with books. The student to faculty is maybe 30:1. The course curriculum was useful.
Other: Two types of annual fests are organised in our college, and one is Cognitia, and the other one is Shishir. The campus is not much crowded. Scholarships are also available here.

Actually, it depends upon your diploma that which diploma program you are looking for like if you are looking for 6 months diploma from distance learning university then you just need 40% to 45%.

You should definitely go for private colleges, getting a government college with this rank is not a chance and there are a hell lot of private colleges to choose from. Just select the course which you want to get admission in.
