An average college with natural beauty.
Placements: There are not many good placements in the ECE department. There are very few placements. I think the highest package is around 40 LPA, and the average package is around 10–12 LPA. I don't know about the companies that recruit. The chance of getting an internship is also low.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the labs, classrooms, and lecture halls is good. This is also true of the hostels, but if you are looking for food, it is not good if you are from the north or west of India. There is mostly non-vegetarian food. No nearby restaurants are available; in fact, there are no shops.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty are supportive, and the teaching quality is good, but if you are aiming for GATE, you have to take courses online, because the level of teaching is not good enough for the GATE exam. Semester exams are not very hard; if you study a bit, it is okay. Passing marks are decided according to student performance.

Best of returns, good placement records, and a good coding environment.
Placements: 80 to 90% of students get placements. The highest package offered is INR 52 LPA by Microsoft. The lowest is INR 5.2 LPA, and the average is INR 12.8 LPA. Microsoft, Infosys, L&T, BPCL, and TVS are the top recruiting companies. The major research areas are high-speed, low-power VLSI, computer algebra, cognitive radio, antenna design, wireless sensor networks, and sensor processing.
Infrastructure: The best hostel compared to other NITs has all-time free Wi-Fi and good mess food. Gym equipment in the hostel, a 24*7 medical facility in the eye-distance hospital, and indoor as well as outdoor game facilities. They also provide all types of game equipment. The playground is so near to the hostel.
Faculty: Faculty are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly; some faculty members are from abroad. There are so many options in electronics and communication engineering, like VLSI, microwave, computer algebra, wireless system networks, government jobs, etc. Exams are moderately tough; you just have to go through the daily class notes.
Other: The best thing about ECE is that we can apply both for government jobs and in the IT sector. Cultural Fest Shishir, Tech Fest C, etc. are the fests conducted in the college. You can apply for various types of scholarships offered by NSP.

The salary packages are great but facilities are not good.
Placements: Placements are better. The highest salary package offered was 52 LPA by Microsoft. The average salary package offered was 20 LPA. The minimum salary package offered varies between 14 LPA to 17 LPA. The minimum salary package offered was 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 8 LPA. All students got placed through the placement drive.
Infrastructure: Since this college is operating from its temporary campus so the infrastructure is not up to the mark. It lacks some basic facilities. Wi-Fi speed is not good. Classrooms are not spacious. Laboratory is small. The library is also small but several books are available. Hostel facilities are better. There is a gym facility in this college. Games are conducted in this college.
Faculty: Teachers are excellent and helpful. The teaching quality is better. Few of them are Ph.D. scholars. The course curriculum is relevant but does not make students ready for the industry. The syllabus is hectic. Semester exams are moderate. The pass criterion is 5 CGPA.
Other: Our campus is going to shift to Sohra, and it will surely increase some basic facilities for students like sports, library, laboratory, etc. The student strength will also increase, and the competition is better. Our campus crowd is not huge. Students can showcase their talents and get selected to perform in other colleges easily. I chose this course because of my interest in it. AI and ML fields are majorly dominated by the ECE department. This college can add industry-ready courses and remove some unnecessary courses. Annual cultural fests are conducted named Shishir in April, and the annual tech fest is held in October.

Absolutely qualified faculty members and good infrastructures .
Placements: Software Developer Engineering, Product Engineering, data analytics roles, and other core companies core companies are also coming for recruiting and in the previous year placement stats were really good this year's it's going well 50% of them are placed till now with the highest package 52 LPA last year.
Infrastructure: We have 24/7 Wi-Fi and the labs and Good library facilites with anytime access. We also have good facilities at hostel there's no complain at all about the facilities and infrastructure. The quality of facilities we get at hostel is good and about food it's totally different from our home food ofcourse but it's okay .
Faculty: Very good knowledge and qualified teachers and who help and guide students to clear their doubts and guide them throughout the course. About semester exams it's completely dependent on our work and if we workhard we don't find papers so tough they are of good standard.
Other: No.

Our college is good. You can take admission in it.
Placements: There are 28 students in our batch, so the percentage of students got placed is high, i.e., about 80-90%. The highest salary package offered is around 11-12 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3-4 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6- 7 LPA. In our branch, i.e., ECE, most of the students are placed in IT companies with the post of a developer, tester, etc. Few are placed in the management company.
Infrastructure: Our labs are well-equipped with the latest instruments and machines. The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Each classroom has a projector and a green board. Our library is small, but it contains all the books we required. Coming to our hostels, all the facilities are good except for the mess. There is a gym, TV room, basketball court, canteen, etc.
Faculty: All the professors here are highly qualified. Some of them teach very well, and some are average. Overall our faculty members are good and helpful. Our course curriculum is very relevant. You can prepare for exams like GATE and IES. Our course curriculum makes us ready for industrial works.
Other: The best part of our course is that you can choose both, either core or coding. It depends upon you which side you want to go. There are some subjects in our course like fundamental of management, basic of chemistry, etc., are irrelevant to this course, so these courses should be removed.

Dissatisfied because of placements.
Placements: Placements went well enough considering we belonged to the first batch of NIT Meghalaya. Most of the students got placed while some left for higher studies. Most of the recruiting firms were from IT while some PSUs also participated. Some of the companies conducted pool placements at NIT Silchar where other NITs from Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh also participated.
Infrastructure: Permanent campus of NIT Meghalaya is still under construction in sohra. Meanwhile, a temporary campus has been set up in Bijni complex in Shillong which houses academic and administrative buildings. Hostels are located at different locations owing to lack of space. Amenities provided are adequate though it needs improvements.
Faculty: Faculty members at the institute have good profiles are also supportive. Number of facilities are in proportion to the batch strength. While opportunities for industry exposure were limited during our time, significant improvements have been made now to keep up the standards of NITs.

This college is very good for those who want practical knowledge. Excellent place.
Placements: Overall, placement of this college is very good. Approx more than 90% of eligible (greater than 6 CGPA) candidates get placed every year. There are a lot of companies visiting for placements. Some of them are Powergrid, Microsoft, Indian Army, Indian Navy, General electric, Robert Bosch, Vodafone, Mu sigma, Virtuosa, Polaris, Thoughtworks, IBM, Infosys, Mphasis etc. The highest package was offered by GE (13 LPA) and the average package is 3.6 LPA.
Infrastructure: If anyone is interested in hands-on experience then NIT Meghalaya is one of the best institutes. The faculty of this college is very supportive. As this college is running on a temporary campus so you don't find huge infrastructure but still it provides all the facilities. Every hostel has its own mess, gym, sports and Wi-Fi facilities. The food menu of each hostel is decided by the hostel committee and the committee is run by the students itself.
Faculty: Every department has more than 10 faculty members and minimum 5 out of 10 are from IIT background. Also, there are more than 5 faculty members who have done their studies in foreign. The course curriculum is not so good in this college because they won't give you options. The whole course will be decided by the academic people.
Other: If anyone really wants to learn through the practical way then this college is the best. Since the capacity of each batch is 30, so it is very easy for the teachers to remember everyone. This college has some high-level researcher where you can take help from them to work in research. Apart from studies, there are a lot of places where you can visit on weekends.

Other: I was happy as our Mentor was SVNIT as my college was among 10 new NIT's and there was no campus for our college. So we were transferred to SVNIT Surat. We spend 5 semesters there. We enjoyed a lot in SVNIT. In 6th Semester we were transferred to Shillong were government has taken a small Campus for our college. Campus was small and it only has 4 buildings and no playground no auditorium. Students have to come daily in college as food is provided in the college only. If you want to bunk then you have to be Hungary for whole day. Faculty were good for EC branch. Especially HOD's teaching style was awesome. Labs were not fully furnished and only some equipment's were provided to us for Lab purpose. Mostly software related practices were done in the Labs. Lab assistants were very helpful in nature. Food provided in the college was OK for vegetarians but Non vegetarian love food. TechFest and cultural Fest were celebrated in the alternate semesters. Most of us enjoyed sports fest as we see strong competition among seniors and juniors. Juniors respected Seniors and almost ragging free Campus.
