IIMC Regional Centres and Seat Intake in India
With the main institute in New Delhi, its regional centres in India are in Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram), Jammu (J&K) and Kottayam (Kerala). The same are listed below, along with their programme-wise seat intake figures. Aspirants must also note that only select programmes are offered at these regional centres. Note - The figures provided above are as per the IIMC website. Out of the total number of seats, 15% are reserved for SC category students, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC, 10% for EWS-G, and 5% for Physically Handicapped students.

IMC Entrance Exam 2025 Admission Process
The IIMC Entrance Exam has converged with the Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or CUET-PG. IIMC aspirants have to take CUET-PG's mass communication paper (paper code - COQP17). The various steps of IIMC admissions through CUET-PG are mentioned in the space below.
Step 1: Fill out the Registration Form For IIMC (CUET PG)
Candidates will have to register for the Online Application Form. The candidates will have to supply the required details while filling out the Online Application Form and will also be required to create a PASSWORD choose Security Question and enter their answer. After successful submission of the personal details, an Application number will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining steps of the application form.
Step 2: Fill out the Application Form For IIMC (CUET PG)
The candidates will have to log in with the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password to complete the Application Form, including filling up personal details, applying for the paper, choosing the examination cities, providing the details of educational qualifications, and uploading the images and documents (if any).
Step 3: Pay the Application Fee
After completing the above-mentioned steps, the candidates will have to pay the requisite examination fee. The fee can be submitted only online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, and UPI Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable will be chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee).
Step 4: Download the Admit Card
Aspirants will have to download their admit card from the official website of NTA or CUET (PG). Entry to the examination centre will not be permitted without the admit card.
Step 5: Appear for the CUET PG exam
CUET PG exam is conducted at an all-India level. The exam is of two hours duration. Candidates are advised to check the exam pattern, syllabus, and marking scheme before appearing for the entrance exam.
Step 6: Counselling
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication selects students as per their performance in Common University Entrance Test. CUET is an entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency at national level. The final merit list for admission is prepared based on candidates' overall score out of 100 marks.
Yes, Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers admission through CUET PG in some of the postgraduate Diploma programmes. Candidates seeking admission in such programmes are required to fill CUET PG application form and appear in CUET PG exam. Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling as per the marks obtained in CUET PG. A cut off for such courses is released and the candidates are given admission accordingly.
Once the result is announced by NTA, IIMC will issue the merit list. The students will have to fill out a counselling form showing their preference for the Programme and the centre. A list of candidates to be provisionally admitted to each course and at each campus will be prepared based on the category-wise merit list.

IIMC Fee Structure 2025
The course-wise IIMC fee structure is provided in the table below. The tuition fee figures are standard across the various regional centres of the institute.
The CUET-PG 'Mass Communication and Journalism' paper (paper code - COQP17) is meant for all mass comm entrance (of the participating institutes) including IIMC entrance. CUET PG 2025 for Mass Communication and Journalism paper was conducted on March 29, 2025. Examinees had to take the test within 90 minutes. They were presented with 75 MCQs from topics like general awareness, awareness of current public issues, Indian History and social sciences, IT and its application, and mass media and society.
