IIMC Admissions Through CUET PG - The Indian Institute of Mass Communication or IIMC accepts CUET PG scores for admissions to their postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses. The institute started this practice in 2022. Before that, IIMC used to conduct the IIMC Entrance Exam for admissions to their programmes. They still conduct the IIMC Entrance Exam, but only for their regional language PG Diploma in Journalism courses (Odia, Malayalam, Marathi and Urdu).

Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or CUET PG is conducted by National Testing Agency for admissions to postgraduate programmes offered at central and other participating universities. CUET PG and IIMC Entrance Exam 2026

CUET PG is conducted annually. The application form for CUET PG 2026 has been released by National Testing Agency. Candidates looking for admission to IIMC through CUET PG can now fill and submit CUET PG online form. The last date to submit CUET PG online form is January 14, 2026. The CUET PG admit card is released before the entrance test. The paper-wise schedule will also be announced by NTA. Once the exams are over and answer key has been released, NTA will announce the result. Based on CUET PG scores and programme selected in IIMC admission form, eligible students will be called for an interview and counselling.

IIMC has divided its programmes into three categories: Category 1, 2, and 3. They are explained below in the context of entrance and admissions.

CUET PG Applications 2026

To apply for CUET PG for admission to IIMC, follow the process mentioned below - 

• Register for the exam on the official website by providing some basic information like your name, email, Government ID number, contact number, etc. You will be required to create a password and choose a security question and answer at this stage. You will also receive an OTP on your provided phone number. Upon entering this OTP, your system-generated application number will be created. You will use this application number and password for subsequent log-ins. 
• Now log in using the credentials created in the previous step and go on to fill out the CUET PG application form. Enter details like your category, qualification, qualification and occupation of your parents, domicile, choice of stream (in this case, Mass Communication and Journalism), choice of exam centre, etc.
• Upload scanned images of your signature and a passport-sized photograph.
• Pay the application fee using net banking, credit/ debit card or UPI.

Note - For every additional test paper, general category students will be charged INR 700 extra, Gen-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, Third Gender and PwD applicants will be charged INR 600 extra, and international students will be charged INR 3500 extra.   

CUET PG Exam for IIMC Admissions 2026

Those who wish to get into IIMC through CUET PG must take the test paper. The online test consists of 75 questions per subject, and examinees are given 90 minutes to attempt these questions. Topics from which the questions are usually framed include - 

• Indian History and Social Sciences 
• Mass Media and Society 
• Current Public Issues 
• International Developments (Politics and Entertainment)
• General Awareness of the Indian Political and Economic Environment 
• IT and Its Applications in the Media Industry

How to Check CUET PG Results on NTA Website?

Follow the process mentioned below to check your CUET PG score card and result. 

• Visit NTA’s CUET PG portal - exams.nta.ac.in/CUET PG/. 
• Click on CUET (PG) - 2026: Click Here to Download Score Card against Latest News. 
• Now enter your username and password in the window that opens. 
• Your CUET PG score card will appear on the screen. Download and save for future reference. 

Note - IIMC aspirants must ensure that they preserve their CUET PG score cards. The document will be required for the counselling stage of the IIMC admission process.  

What after CUET PG?

After taking the test and passing as per CUET PG results and score cards, those who obtain enough marks to clear the exam will be called for interviews/ counselling. IIMC will carry out these stages of the admission process. 

IIMC Counselling 2026

• IIMC e-counselling is held in multiple rounds and spot rounds. Students must register for counselling process on IIMC’s website - iimc.admissions.nic.in. 
• After registering, they will be required to fill a counselling application form and pay a fee. In this form, they will have to provide personal details, CUET PG qualification details, contact details, etc. 
• After this, they can go on to fill in their choices of institute (IIMC Regional Centres) and programmes/ courses in order of their preference. 
• Once they’ve reviewed their choices, they must lock them. 
• These choices will be processed, and seats will be allotted to students. A Provisional Seat Allotment Letter will be issued, which students can download. 
• The next step is a Willingness Submission. Students will be given two options - Freeze or Float. Students can choose Freeze if they’re satisfied with their seat allotment or Float if they want an upgrade in the subsequent rounds of counselling. 
• After this, students will have to upload some documents like age proof, CUET PG admit card, scorecard, category certificates, etc. 
• This is followed by the payment of a Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 20,000. Failing to do so will lead to cancellation of admission. 

IIMC Tuition Fee

Once aspirants have passed all stages of the admission process, they will have to pay the tuition fee for their selected programmes. The tuition fee of the various IIMC programmes is mentioned in the table below.
