These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
We all know about COVID-19 and the effect of this virus in many countries. This is a very critical situation for every person. COVID-19 is affecting all the sectors including the Education sector. Now, the classes are being conducted online and every educational institute is using online apps for study such as Zoom, Meeting, Team, Telegram, etc. It is beneficial for all the students so that they can study online without waste their semester and year.
To tackle this situation, our college is conducting online classes for students and teachers are putting their best efforts so that the students can study well and complete syllabus of all subjects on time. If we talk about online classes, we can attend the class regularly according to the timetable provided by the college on Outlook, this timetable includes the timing of every class along with the name of the teacher who will be taking the specific lecture. Following the timetable ensures that we do not miss any of the lectures.
Also, one broadcast group is on Whatsapp where our Class Representative (CR) sends the study material of all subjects including PPT, PDF, recording of lecture video and voice record of lecture, etc.
The recording of video lecture and voice recording of the lecture is very helpful as we can play the video and listen to the voice recording again. This would help in clarifying the doubts for preparation of the exam
As we are MBA students, so we have to do three months of internship during the summer break but we cannot do so due to the lockdown. For this, our college has provided several courses on Coursera to develop our skill and learn about the working process in the industry. Also, learn how to behave with people because the industrial people come from different backgrounds. Thus, these courses on Coursera would help us to learn and polish our skills.”
Let’s talk about the college strategy of study. My college is conducting online classes on Team app and all the teachers are taking a class as well as the attendance of every student to ensure all the students attend the class. When we study on Teams, the teachers explain all the topics which are important for us according to our syllabus and at the end of the class, we have 15 minutes to clarify our doubts, if any. Also, in case students want to ask any doubt, they can share their query with the teacher on Whatsapp anytime. Overall college are taking online classes and trying to cover all the topics according to the syllabus. This would help the students in preparing for the exam without any stress.
